This is so frustrating!!!!!!!

I have way more lucid dreams than any beginner. Well, techinically I’m not a beginner since I’ve known about lucid dreaming for over 2 years, but never seriously practiced it. BUT ANYWAYZ, I have a lot of lucid dreams for someone who practices it as little as I do. If I record a dream or two, I’ll have a few lucid dreams that week.

YEAH OK!

WHY AM I FRUSTRATED? BECAUSE MY LUCID DREAMS ARE FREAKING BORING!!! I can never get anything done. I hear about such awesome lucid dreams from my friend at school and people on this forum. WHAT IS THE DEAL???

Today I had a lucid dream, totally forget the details, but basically I was trying to meet my “imaginary friend” who’s name is Argitoth. Ok, that didn’t work. Then I decided to at least create a training room where I can practice my “powers”. THAT didn’t work.

WHAT THE HEEEEECK!!!1
can’t I just have a little fun? Is that such a big request?!!!

this post is more to be funny than to be angry.

Just have confidence! Know that you WILL be able to do anything you want to do and then do it. Maybe it’s time to get more serious about induction techniques?

Good luck!

I swear I responded to this thread… oh well.

My response was “What do you mean by induction techniques?”

MILD, WILD, VILD, etc.

LOL! You probably dreamt you logged on LD4all and answered to this thread.

Argitoth, is your problem a control problem or don’t you remember what you planed to do in LD’s once you’re LD’ing? And do you plan something to do BTW?

Well, I just think of what I want to do during the day and pretty much always remember during lucid dreams. See, the thing is I consider myself pretty good at lucid dreaming. It comes naturally. The only problem is I can never actually control the dream very well. That’s why I’m crying.

Edit: Literally, I am telling you. I ask dream characters where other dreamcharacters are and they either INSULT ME, DON’T KNOW, or just plain refuse to tell me. I’ve recorded TWO accounts of this in my dream journal.

Lol! Ebil DC’s, ebil! :ebil:

It happens sometimes to some dreamers. I’ve read many accounts about not very cooperative DC’s. I think the first thing you have to do is not feeling too much frustrated and thinking it may even be funny. I remember for instance a girl who asked to a DC if he was conscious. The DC replied: “Of course I am. But when you ask such a stupid question, I may really wonder if you are!”

Moreover, on my former french forum, some beginners had lots of problems with DC’s. But some months later, without them having done anything special, their DC’s were more friendly and cooperative. This may happen when you read lots of accounts about DC’s problems, then you’re unwillingly influenced and reproduce the same thing in your dreams.

Another thing: DC’s reflect your emotions and expectations. This is closely related to RL. I remember a recent LD in which someone try to make appear a girl he knows. But instead of the girl, a giant monster appeared! When he thought: “Hey! This is just MY dream!”, the monster transformed into the girl he searched for.

About control: there are two important things. Control strongly depends on your beliefs about dreams or real life. Hence control problems are very often related to what you think to be hard to do in dreams or RL. That’s the first point.

As a consequence, if you can’t or don’t want to modify those beliefs, it’s often necessary to trick your dreams in order to control them. For instance, instead of creating something from nothing, try to transform any existing thing in what you want. Use “spells”, magical wands, technological or SciFi machines. You probably know the famous trick when you make appear a DC behind a door, cause it’s easier to believe you’ll find someone behind a door than him appearing suddenly from nowhere. All the control tricks are based upon the same principle: making something easier to believe.

I hope I could have been some help to you. Good luck in your next LD’s!

thanks for the advice. I’ll report my next lucid dream, should occur sometime this week.

I think DCs act the way you think people will act in real life, but in a more exagerrated way. People I dislike who show up as DCs are jerks, my friends are always helpful, hot girls are always receptive (too bad RL isnt dictated by your SC beleifs, huh?)

so ah, try to pay attention to your first emotional response to the people you talk to or just see on the street tommorow

But that could also just be me.

My DC are usually cooperative or don’t bother at all of me. They are not the angry or bad type that put you always in trouble.

But I have problem with Lucid power , except flying I just can’t do a lot of things. Thank you for sharing your tips . The door tips will be surely usefull sometime.

At least you’re lucid! Consider yourself lucky, some of us have been trying for a while and can’t even get lucid, so it could be a lot worse! What’s even worse than that is, for over a year I was really good at recalling my dreams and for the last month or so, I can’t even do that anymore! So be glad you’re not me and enjoy your so-called “boring” LDs, I can’t even remember my NDs anymore, much less have a lucid one or recall it!!!
