You can buy them at any drug store. Make sure you get some decent ones, as the more cheaper ear plugs tend to fall out. But, also remember that falling asleep with them on may be a fire hazard - you may not hear an alarm.
Its a very nice and simple remedy for those who live in noisy areas . And, it also allows you to focus on your breathing because that sound of breath comes from within the body, therefore you will easily be able to focus on that “rhythmic gateway” to meditation.
Why am I posting this? Well, it sucks when your working on your “Quest for Lucidity” and right when you see your getting somewhere someone makes a loud noise and you pop right out of your lucid state.
… wow that actually would be really good for me! No more almost asleep and then the wind makes a creak and i wake totally up! No more falling asleep but jerkface brother has to talk on cell phone till god knows when…
But then i won’t hear my alarm and i’ll be late =(
You don’t need ear plugs. Try meditating before you sleep.
Normaly everything wakes me up, but if I meditate first nothing short of jumping on me is getting me up.
I’ve tried a few brands, and I really like Hearos, “Ultimate Softness Series”, very comfortable. Sometimes I’ll just plug one ear, then sleep on the side with the unplugged ear. This allows me to still hear louder sounds like alarms. Sounds wake me very easily, so it doesn’t take much.
… but anyways I think this is a great idea. My room is right next to my parents room and their tv is on for sooo long, plus i hear sounds from outside which annoy me.
