Triple LD! But they suck so much..

Hi there ! When I got home from school today, took a nap that lasted for 2 hours, and I got lucid three times  It was 3 false awakenings actually, and I’ve never had them before now.

I have had 4 lucid dreams earlier, so now I’m up to 7, but they all, except for my very first LD, lasted for MAX 1 minute dreamtime, which I think is too damn short  I’ve many of the tricks written around here, but they can’t seem to get me any higher lucidity. When I tried to spin around, it felt like I was going EXTREMELY fast, and I decided “this is too fast, I’ll never get a stable dream out of this”, so I decided to use this as a matter of teleporting somewhere out of my room. It only made my head dizzy, and my room was now something like post-apocalyptic. Then I “woke up”/dream faded to black.

I got my FA, and I thought that I might as well try to chain the dream, so I laid completely still, it only made me get this weird feeling in my stomach, so I thought; “Maybe I’m still dreaming?” and did a RC. Yes! So I got up from my bed, tried to really focus and feel the light and the smells and sounds around me. I had a pretty ok lucidity at that time I thought. I remember hearing the sound of a norwegian comedian on the TV upstairs, etc. It was so dark in my room, so I went out into the bathroom, and figured I could try to “summon” a person when I opened the door, which worked  The person was a bit uglier than normally, but I guess that’s just because it was my first try, hahah. Well, I got inside and when we started to talk, I felt the dream fade away again. I tried taking a lucid pill, which helped for about 5 seconds, and then it all faded away and I “woke up” again.

“Allright, what if I got yet another FA?” I thought, but it really didn’t feel that way, so I didn’t do an RC, but as I laid still in my bed, I heard the noises from the TV upstairs and it was that comedian again. I listened to him, and he was saying the same, really bad, joke on and on again, so I took that as a dreamsign and I breathed straight through my nose once again. Just after I got up and tried to turn on the lights, the lightswitch just fell off the wall, and it just got darker and darker. I tried to rub my hands etc, but nothing worked and it all faded out yet another time. Now I woke up for real.

So yeah, I’m really happy that I have gotten some LD’s, but how do you think I can prolong them/get to a higher state of lucidity?

Oh, and sorry for my probably not-so-good english, and that the post got a bit longer than expected ;o

 in one night you have gotten 3 times as much LD as me…
But theres many different ways but you can always try super lucid pills" make you dream for an hour" or something like that or tell a DC " make my dream stabil"

Hi, MER

Don’t worry, the more LD’s you have the longer they will last as you become used to being in a dream and staying calm. The thing that works best for me is rubbing my hands and doing anything that keeps my senses active. You need to keep yourself firmly planted in the dream, so staying engaged is very important.

Also, don’t give up if you loose vision or feel like you are waking up. Spinning or falling backwards while rubbing my hands has also saved many a dream. Don’t give up if you feel like your RL hands are actually the ones rubbing together. Chances are this is an FA, so keep it up. Let us know if you need anything else, and best of luck!

Zebbe: Don’t worry, if you keep your mind on LD’s and do RC’s all throughout the day, the LD’s will follow. Too many people give up when they don’t recieve instant results, but if you keep with it you will get that one, beautiful first LD :content:

Thanks a lot, I will try all of this in my next LD’s (hopefully tonight?)

Man I just had 3 LDs in a row too, and they also sucked. I didnt have much control. In one i tried to fly (I have never sucessfully flown in a LD or ND) and i ran and jumped in the air kinda high for a few seconds. I did this about 3 times and when I fell it hurt. Then I gave up and went to look for a jetpack or something to assist me but I eventually woke up after a few minutes.

It seems if I dont have a goal when I get lucid, or if my goal is to only observe, then I loose lucidity pretty quick. But if I have a goal, like flying, then I usually fail and wake up, or wake up while trying. If I go around shouting that I am in control, or “Increase Lucidity” etc, it doesnt help much. I also have had 10+ LDs so I have some experience.

When you fail, it’s because you expect to fail. When you feel pain, it’s because you expect pain. Flying was difficult for me, and when I could fly I would just end up drifting off into the air or would fall like you did. What I began to do was to imagine I was flying as I would fall asleep. I would think about how it should feel, what I should be doing, what my control would be like. After a while it transfered into my dreams, and now flying is just as easy as walking.

Conciousness in dreams is not a given so if you have conciousness in dreams it’s either you are very near waking up or woken up before the dream ended. The only best way is to be lucid earlier and you can do that by using WILD or MILD where you incubate a dream to be about something that would cause you to RC and then become lucid middle of the dream.

IMJ

Don’t forget DILD. That is basically randomely becoming lucid, and it does not necessarily mean you are waking up. Also, RCILD is based on just doing a random RC out of habbit. MILD and WILD are just techniques, nothing more. Lucidity is based entirely on you.

This has happened to me before as well (actually my first LD), however they were very nice, full LD where i had close too, if not full control over my surroundings and all other aspects of the dream. I just did all of my dream goals (fly, gunfight, sex) because i knew anything was possible. By my third FA i just sort of knew i was dreaming.
