Trouble with Lucid Dreaming

I am having trouble doing WILD because I don’t enter SP and when I do I leave because It’s even harder to breath in it when you have a stuffy nose and when your slipping away. I have trouble with MILD and I can’t do WBTB because It annoys the hell out of everybody in the house when my alarm goes off that early. I am good at RC’s though. When I do get lucid my RC works but I can’t really think and remember things and really understand that I am dreaming so I’m only half lucid. Can someone please help me out with getting higher levels of lucidity and becoming lucid at will? :grrr:

You mentioned that you’re good at doing RCs. So I suppose that during the day, you also do RC. In that case, you have pretty good prospective memory. So instead of using an alarm clock, remember to wake up at a certain time. Of course, pick a reasonable time, say in cycles of 90mins. And allow 3-4 cycles first before attempting to wake up.

Let’s say you sleep at 10pm, so allowing 4 cycles first, the best time to wake up would be around 4am(4 cycles), or 5.30am(5 cycles). The more cycles, the easier it is to wake.

Now, before you go to sleep, make a mental note to get up at that time. I realised that if I calculate it correctly, I will always wake within a margin of half an hour. Pretty accurate huh?
That should solve ur alarm clock problem. :content:

As to higher lucidity. There’s no shortcut. Practice makes perfect. And use your prospective memory while at it. Say, “I will have higher lucidity in my LD” before you sleep. And during a LD, if u can remember, shout, or say, “Increase lucidity now!” or something like that. It should help.

Just keep at it!

hey there, i used to have the same propblem when i first started as well and i cant stand wild or mild or wb2b method infact when i do them i cant sleep at all so it actually kills any chance i have of ld, i spose if i tried more it might be ok but i really dont want to lose that ammount of sleep.

Here are a few little tricks that i used a lot when i first started out, and they got me some really cool and powerful lucid dreams later on and some wicked experinces on the way there.

Start off real small, i found that i wanted to fly and teleport and shared dream and control everyhting at once! i mean why wouldnt you! but i found that i had so many things that i wanted to do, that when i did actually ld,i was like "now wtf did i want to do? " i couldnt remember, so what i did do after that was actually reality checks inside my dream.

Yer i knew it was a dream i was lucid, but i decided to test the light switch method anywayz… or stick my hand through a wall, or look at the time, that one was one of the best, i watched the hands move aroundin circles. And each and every time i did this it strengthed the idea that i was dreaming even tho i knew it, and each and every time i realised that i could actually remember to do stuff as well.

I started my before going to sleep doing a sort of mild, i would tell my self that i would do a RT in my dream, i would see my self becoming lucid and then i would just keep trying reality tests over and over in my head. then i got sick of it and went to sleep and that night had a lucid, and did just what i said i would, RT, because i did them so much during the day it was easy to remember.

Every time idid a RT in the dream my awareness became stronger, i had more powerful ld and they lasted longer to. I also tried to say my name in my drea, some ppl say that no one can do it or its very hard, for me it was very simple, and when i said it it made me remember the real world, and one of two things happened.1 i remembered what other intentions i had, like line jumping or some crazy ass adventure, or 2, it woke me up… but either way its worth the experince.

But i feel the best way is to create a bond with somthing… like say you want to fly, everytime you do a text RT think about flying as well in your lucid, and when you do aText RT inyour dream you will remmeber flying as well and then off you go.

Or think about colors, link the ideas you are having and what you want to something you want to do. That helps you rememember.

ok lastly to increase power? mmm you need to increase awreness. that means you have to really know that you are dreaming, you can know…but you sorta think then just know and it is kinda lame and frustrating when you wake up from doing somthing totaly stupid.

So try more RT, try calling out your name, yell at your self to increase lucidity, but the best trick that worked for me was actually to grab onto something. i touched teh ground and felt the dirt between my fingers, hell i even held onto a pole to “hold” onto the dream when i was about to wake up. But the best trick is to feel. Weather it be actually touching somthing and holding it and realising its all in your head but here it is anyway, or to feel with emotions.

They are what gave me some of my most powerful LD. Emotions. Want something bad, feel it, need it and you will be very lucid indeed.

hope that helped. sorry i rant im tired
