Hey everyone. Let me start by saying im really new here. Like yesterday new and i hadnt have my 1st lucid dream yet. ive been keeping a DJ for 4 days and i want to know some actual ways of achieving this goal for begginers. pm me please for this topic.
now on to the real topic. me and my twin brother had experienced the exact same dream. i want to know if it was coincedence or a psychic ability.
Nope, not a psychic ability. I read a lot about twins, since you guys are soo similar and close, it’s most likely you guys had a shared dream. People that are very close, have a higher chance of shared dreaming. It’s pretty cool!
you guys, let me start by sayings, me and my twin are different, personality wise. well anyways the dream is kinda explicit so stop reading if you don’t want to read on: ok I was in a pink room with white tiles on the floor. I don’t know if “I” was actually there, but i know i wasn’t in 3rd person. well this place was pretty big (it was a square room) and empty except for a bathtub. im talking about the old ones, with the bronze feet that is suspending the actual tub like 2 inches of the ground. There was was also a shower pole and nozzle. ( this tub was not connected to the wall or anything. it was in the middle of the room) well there was this girl I knew in real life in there ( this dream took place like around when i was 7 or 8, im 14 now). She was taking a bubble bath and the bubbles were pink. I remember watching her for a while when she stood up out of no where. and I saw her with a penis (lol, I was so oblivious back then). I woke up after that. I wasn’t scared or any thing I just woke up. well Theres more but this was the one i remember the most and Franklyn had the exact same dream.
“Shared” dreams usually happen, when two people had a similar experience that day. Let’s say two friends went to a rollercoaster ride one day. The chance that they will dream about such an experience is quite high. Although the dreams they dream are seperate, they have the same scenario and the same characters. Therefore, the effect of a mutual dream is created.
Another explanation would be that, upon awakening, the two friends sit at a breakfast table and ask eachother, what dreams they’ve had. The first friend tells his story, while the second friend subconsciously adapts his story to the dream he had himself. Therefore, he creates a false memory and thinks it was a mutual dream, while in reality it was a mutual dream recall.
Sorry for my scepticism, but that’s my opinion on this topic.
i am open to other peopl opinions, even though Idk what to believe in, in the matter at hand. I am to new to lucid dreaming and dream as itself to give you guys my hypothesis or theory.
I’ve quoted this dream a few times on this forum I think, but I’ll say it again:
Somewhere around grade 3 or 4, my friend and I, who were very close and did everything together, saw each other in a dream. The dream was very odd too: it involved riding on the backs of flying penguins, starting in our respective back yards. The weird part was that the next day, we started talking about the dream, and we each described exactly what the other was wearing without giving any hints beforehand. Recalling that one day, and one of my friends mentioning that it’s possible to learn how to have lucid dreams, was what prompted me to start trying in the first place.
My point: I believe that shared dreams are definitely real, it’s just very difficult to prove to anyone other than the person you had the dream with.
It could be coincidence, sure you’re very different people, but if you’re the kind of family that spends a lot of time with each other, then you’ll be exposed to a lot of the same waking-life cues.
It could also be that one of you triggered a false memory in the other when you talked about your dreams.
Or it could be a psychic connection! I wouldn’t call it an ability until you’re able to have it with some will and regularity, but it’s still wicked awesome when stuff like that happens.
