two LD limitations

I hope I have posted to the right forum… would this do better in the “LD diary” section? anyway. I had a LD the previous morning and noticed two familiar features which I would like to get through.

a) lack of longterm memory. I mistook the house in which the LD occured for my home. I don’t live in a house though. I live in an apartment building, totallly unlike.

I did check for blurriness in my visual field (a little of pixelation I have noticed, like a pointilist painting) and perhaps because the LD happened in near-darkness, did not notice that. however I had mental fuzziness as if puppeted by habits and autonomic mental functions. much like much of my waking life but more so.

b) I could not pass through solid objects. my mind I guess did not believe I could do this so I couldn’t. I guess this relates to the first feature.

I can fly and have great strength in LD’s but have tried a couple times and no passing through matter. unless you count water and air.

Considering the various levels or degrees of awareness in an LD, passing through a wall is just a question of time, practice, convincing yourself, etc.

But mis-identifying the house you live in is really interesting. I can’t imagine doing that in an LD, but just guessing I’d say it was either a low level awareness or a very high one. Perhaps you have had some non-lucid dreams involving the house. I think this would be an exciting area to explore.

a) This kind of thing feels familiar. I very rarely have full mental faculties in LD.

b) I find passing through solid objects difficult but have had some success. If it’s difficult, I start by resting my fingertips against the object, then let my hand become light, as if it will have no resistance, then start to move it through.

That whole LD-in-darkness thing can be very annoying. I usually try to get outside or something to make more light. Lightswitches rarely work.

Passing through matter is more difficult than flight or super strength, and it took me awhile before I did it successfully. It takes more of a suspension of disbelief than other activities, because going through a wall changes your entire field of vision.

Hmmm.i never get any darkness in my lds.

As to the objects like door i had difficulties but overcome them.
On the beginning it felt like semi solid…i could push my hand through but i had to push strongly. No way i could do i with whole body.Actually i got stuck in door once…with my head on the other side:)Anyways…i usually go back to some wall and float a bit. Then i push myself from the wall(like on swimming pool)and with high speed i hit the door.If i do it right im out.

hope it helps

Last night i had my second LD and i wanted to go through a glass door into the garden. I did not think much about it. I just had the thought of wanting it and did it. I think i had in my mind, that it has to work because i read so much about it.
So i’m of the opinion that it’s really a matter of belief.
