unendless false awakenings

Im not sure exactly where I should put this.

Wanted to put it in a DJ but I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced something like this and what they did to stop it.

I just woke up from an unendless false awakening filled dream… I can’t even remember how many times I woke up in this dream. I stood up and walked around… enjoyed being lucid… started playing around with the control of the dream (How I can change things… make things appear ect.)
Because I usually get excited and wake up… I did wake up… but it was the begining of an unendless anslaught of false awakenings.
The first FA I wanted to get up and talk to my wife about my experience again but realized shortly thereafter that I was still dreaming… so I layed back down and tryed hard to wake up… and I did wake up again… another FA… still very real and controllable…

So after trying to wake up again experiencing another FA I decided to get up once again in my dream and start having fun with it… I made plans to leave my dream house (a house I had never seen before) but for some reason I was looking for things to take with me and then realizing “What do I need? I can make anything I want or need later” not to mention I had already been listening to a selfmade MP3 player that I told myself in my dream to make and said outloud “Play my next new song that I will write” (trying to see what would come out)

This lead me to want to call somebody (guessing I was losing Lucidity at this point) to ask them if they wanted to come with me… and I saw him… The Shadow man… but he wasnt a man this time… he was in the shape of a dog… and when I saw him I said to myself “stay cool… relax… he wont do anything… just pet him and look away” which made it even worse and another 3 dogs came out of nowhere and attacked me.

which lead to another FA (at this point I must have woken up 10 times in my dream and had about 4 different LDs with different themes in the one dream house)
Now I just want to wake up… im tired of the FAs and want to collect myself a little… and until I got to where I am now… I had another 3 FAs and an LD where I looked for my wife to tell her about my experiences and realized that I was still sleeping… AGAIN… bah

The question is… I was doing RCs the whole time while I was trying to wake up… (finger through hand) and it got to the point where I wasnt sure if my finger was going through my hand or not… or better said I was making my finger NOT go through my hand in my dream by wanting to be awake…
Should I find a better RC that is clearer? Has anyone had the same experience?

I had the same issue with my last LD but with far less lucidness and only 3 or 4 FAs…

I can’t say I ever had a series of more than two FA’s. If LD’s are rare for you or usually short, why not try to make more positive things out of your FA’s?

In my experience, the nose plugging RC is the most reliable one. If you have problems with RC’s not showing the correct result, do more than one or two just to be sure.

Your right… im a rookie though… thats why its still hard for me to get things to run smooth…

but im sure the next one will be better and the one after that…
atleast this time I actually thought about doing something else other than trying to wake up to prove that im dreaming…

The maximum continuous FAs I had was around 10, they were extremely realistic but I struggled to get up from my bed, it was very tiring, I tend to have continuous FAs a lot also. This happens when I close the door of my room, which BTW is the most humid room in my house, and air is either not renewed at any rate or it get too hot inside, and that especially on a summer day. This causes sensory deprivation and especially when I sleep facing upwards, thus it results in what you say, continuous FAs, struggling or not.

i guess thats the case with me as well…
but now that I think of it… all 3 LDs that I had it was too warm in my room… and the last 2 had quite a few FAs…
maybe it helps me out though? Maybe I should try and make the best of it though…

This night after being lucid for while i had a dreamception too haha. I became lucid, floated round my house for a bit and woke up. But did i? well i had 6 FA s . My advice would be to do reality check every time you get off bed. This way you could have had loads of lucid dreams. That is what I am trying to do- to make it my habit to do RC before getting of the bed.

That happens when you’re still sleeping and tried to wake up.

You just have to roll with it until your body decided to wake up.

If you really wanted to wake up that much then you should lose your cool and go crazy until you wake up out of excitement.

Oh, this might turn out to be a great thing for you.
Make it a habit to do an RC every time you WAKE UP.

Next thing you know, you might become a lucidity master

great idea… i gotta get in the habit of doing an RC right when I wake up…
for some reason the finger through the hand RC didn’t work to well for me… i have to find an easy and quick RC that I can start using… I was thinking about starting to wear a watch or something… a friend gave me a ring awhile back that has numbers on it… you can take the ring apart and change the numbers to whatever you want… so i figured I would start wearing that and doing RCs with the ring…
or I guess I could just look at one of my Tattoos… theres writing on it… maybe it will change shape or the text will change… I dont know… im gonna start trying a few things out…

thanks for the encouragement!!!

From what I’ve learnt from my experience FAs are simply the best thing about dreaming if lucidity is your immediate goal!! After all, there are many people here who might get lucid once in two weeks, but when they do, they’ll get lucid 2-3 times on the same night, all because of multiple FAs.

They are quite weird if you think of it, and it becomes scary as well as confusing when you think about your waking life in an LD after a FA. You tend to think that you’ve spent a great deal of time being lucid, and hope to get out of the loop.

But trust me, having spent even more time in the dry phase(no lucid dream and zero dream recall for more than 1.5 years), I now think that those loops were the best of times!!

Just throw yourself completely there and you’d find the loop more entertaining than ever. Keep a good amount of things in your wishlist before you attempt at it, and make sure you come out with overwhelming results.

When you do RCs, really question reality. Genuinely wonder if you are dreaming, even if you know you aren’t.

Otherwise you will do that routinely like in your dream. It’s not the RC, because any of them work for most people if done correctly

Here’s my longest experience with endless false awakenings:

It’s funny because before that I was unable to completely my goals due to lack of time but this time around I actually got sick of being within a lucid dream and waking up was impossible. It’s a pretty awesome experience but I have posted it in the past so some of you older members may have already read it…

What I got from this is that if you think you will not be able to wake up and have a false awakening instead then you will… As long as you don’t want it because your mind usually thinks you want to stay lucid so it try kicking you out. This is like reverse psychology for your own brain because it thinks you want to leave so it keeps you it… In all my lucid dreaming research I have noticed that your brain is always against you

Thanks for the advice…
since starting with my dream journal again ive remembered atleast one dream a night for about the last 2 weeks…

like I said before I have to work on the RCs and hopefully ill be enjoying some more LDs in the near future.

and as for the FAs… im gonna try the reverse psychology thing… I like being lucid but the feeling that you will never wake up… yeah…
maybe ill get used to it someday…
