ur first WILD exp.

man im trying to decide on whether to do WILD so can any of u encourage me… im still thinking aboult the wierd things i might hear or see while in SP. so idk can sumone plz describe maybe their wild exp. first time or w/e where it wasnt that bad

er I know how you feel man, but I’ve never managed to get to SP or HI. Good luck, and remember, it’s your mind playing tricks on you, and you’re lying safe in your bed.

The first time I WILDed, I gradually felt sleep paralsis kicking in. I then started ‘dreaming awake’ - fragmented images and conversations which gradually became louder. It then felt like my consciousness shifted and I ‘woke up’ in the dream world (really cool experience).

I have experienced some weirder stuff since then. A couple of times it felt like I was spinning around and once like my feet were rising from the bed. I haven’t experienced anything scary when WILDing (that only happens when I wake up to sleep paralysis) so I don’t think you need to be at all worried about trying it. Just try and remain calm whilst it is happening - it may take a few tries.

one time it felt like my limbs were pushing into and away form my body - weird, but funny.

@Li10
That could be close to AP/OOBE … I guess

At my first WILD… it was quick one

I didn’t even could feel SP and any sounds, such as buzzing in ears or HS.

Just counting breaths : one… two… three… forur…

and I was in dream, fully lucid

oh cool, AP! OOBE! Woo!

I read up on wikipedia though and it lists it as hypnagogia. Oh well, I don’t care, I was getting close to something!!

I’ve posted about this before but what the heck…

During one of my attempts at WILD (back when I tried it out) I got to the point where I felt a presence in my room. It started off as a feeling that someone was opening my bedroom door and coming in. After that I heard my dad calling out my name to me in a friendly tone.

Hopefully this will happen to you too  - it’s actually quite fun. Just remember not to wake up and turn around to answer otherwise you’ve just messed up your chance at successful WILD like I did.

thanks for the tip!

Yea I kicked myself when I realised what I did… ><

My only question is: how do you keep your mind awake and aware while practicing WILD?

@Serenity
There is a lot of ways, counting, counting breaths, keeping mind active (I mean, not letting random stuff show up in mind, concentrating on keeping consciousness or just shouting in head), creating (feeling?) a sensation of falling/spinning and some more ways I don’t recall right now.

Don’t worry about that, man. It’s actually quite exciting when it does happen. I had a hag experience a few months back, and it was very exciting. I actually look forward to my next hag experience

But don’t worry, they’re very rare in any case.

Who are you responding to, man? I am confused =0

When the SP occurs are you actually completely unable to move? Say if I tried to move my arm would I just wake back up fully? Or should I consider SP to be a point of no return?

When SP kicks in, it is difficult to breathe, and you are completely imobilized.

And Iwas answering the guy at the top. Maybe I should’ve quoted his post…

So even if I wanted to I could not move at all? So there is no way to reverse it?

I’ve always sorta been wondering this, and I’m aware this question has probably been asked and answered multiple times around some of these forums… but with SP, is it your ‘dream body’, if you will, that can’t move, or your ‘real body’, which is lying in bed, that ca’t move?

Like are you in a dream by the point you reach SP?

Thanks,
Dee

It could be either, Dili Dali. It depends if you are in the dream yet, or not. If you are attempting WILD, and still technically awake, part of the experience could be that you can’t move. Sleep paralysis can easily happen in a dream, as well.

The problem I have with WILDs is that they happen when I don’t want them to.
I am always very tired everyday and when I stay up for a really long time I’ll just watch tv or lay in bed and I’ll all of a sudden start to vibrate and be paralysed.

The wierd thing is that my body keeps me in that state and my eyes are open the whole time, I never see images or figures or anything, they are all invisible.

Yesterday I was laying in bed watching TV and I started hearing something and I couldn’t move, so I knew I was falling asleep so I tried to stay still and relax, the more I relaxed the more it was harder to move, all of a sudden it feels like something got on my bed and was moving around. So I try my best to get out of sleep paralysis and I get up and its gone, but as soon as I relax again my body goes instantly into sleep paralysis and it starts over again, the only way to stop the cycle is to completely get up and sometimes out of bed.

I can either keep my eyes open and look around but I can only move my eyes or close my eyes and everything gets more intense.

But it scares me thinking someone is in the room with me forcing me to be in that state and I never go thru with it.

But the wierd thing is that I never can goto a dream with it and never see my dream before me. Might be cause I never let it go further beyond what I should.

But all the time I always feel like something is on the bed with me I can hear em moving around and feel the covers sink in.

So is it all in my head and I need to just let go.

I guess I should feel greatful how I don’t have to try and have a WILD that my body falls asleep with me still awake.

It doesn’t seem like I can enter a lucid dream with it cause I am too aware, but could maybe it be used for OOBE?
