I downloaded a lot of different tracks with some music or sounds or just rain fall from Laberg, Monroe Institute and others and recorded on my PocketPC. I listened to different once for about 2 month, none of them work. Some of them 1.5h long, other last all night in repeat. I found some of then destructive, other good to fall asleep but I wake up because of headphones in my ears. Does anybody have any experience and can share. Does it really help or you think it is better just not to use any assistance like that?
For me they have been helpful for relaxation and guided meditation but i can’t fall asleep with headphones. I used to have little ones but they broke. Those I could sleep with but the best it did was to get the audio into my dreams on two occasions that I can recall.
If you can’t sleep with the audio it’s no use. But listening to stuff like that for a time before just going to sleep can help.
I listened to a “tape” on dream yoga by Lama Surya Das. it’s mostly info but has a meditation in it wich I went along with and I had a LD that night.
I use a soundmachine occasionally to help me get to sleep-- the effects are interesting. Sometimes it makes my dreams calmer and happier, sometimes it makes them more vivid. I haven’t noticed any effect in the LD area (But then again, I rarely have any lucid dreams as of late). Maybe if I used it regularly hearing the sounds would trigger lucidity?
I don’t think using audio is either good or bad, it just depends on your experiences.
I was actually inpired to try it out again after not listening to anything for some time. I listened to a self hypnosis “tape” for lucid dreaming. Got me relaxed and such into the zone where you believe you might just WILD. I didn’t WILD though. But I had quite vivid dreams and one lucid dream. I didn’t do any mantras just breathing meditation as usual. I can pretty much attribute the fact that I had a LD to listening to the “tape”.
