Very pleasant, relaxing feeling while falling sleep.

A few nights ago, (just got around to posting this), I was lying in bed, after my nightly meditation. My mind began to drift, as one does, but I wasn’t falling asleep right away.

Then, my torso began to feel light, (but at the same time very, VERY heavy and relaxed), and there was a pleasant warming feeling going through my fingers and moving up my arm. It was therapeutic, I wish I could feel that every night. It was like every stressful thought in my head and every worry melted away from me.

The best way to describe it, I was just there.

It eased me to sleep, and when I woke up I was refreshed as I’ve ever been, (not a common occurance for me). I only remembered a few dream fragments though.

Has anyone else experienced this, or know what this is? I’d really like to learn more about this.

Yes, meditation before bed is a very enjoyable sensation. I do WILD at bed time and even if I fall asleep it is always a very pleasant feeling.

That sounds like witnessing, a stage where you can be very blissful where you just “are”, witnessing the phenomena around you and not interacting or actively thinking. You do have thoughts but you kind of see them floating by as an observer. Meditation can also cause positive energetic feelings throughout the body and is often linked with witnessing (for example in Zen meditation).
