I’ve been really interested in lucid dreaming for a while now, and I think this morning I had my first lucid dream!
I was dreaming about two knights swordfighting in my attic when I thought, hey! I’m dreaming! The scene went black and I’m not sure if I woke up or had a false awakening, but either way I ended up in bed in sleep paralysis. I thought I was awake, so I lay still and tried to have a lucid dream. Then, I started vibrating like crazy. I opened my eyes, did a RC, and realized I was dreaming. I sat up and told the shaking to stop, but it only lessened a little. I got up and tried to look out the window, but the shaking kept making me blink. I tried to wait it out, but it just got worse. Finally, I got so frustrated I woke up.
Why would this happen? How do I stop it? It’s happened before, but not in a lucid dream. Once I had multiple false awakenings in a row, each one starting with me getting up, and then ending with me vibrating so madly that I could barely move. How do I stop this?
Congratulations!
Since you later did an RC and realized you were still dreaming, you definately had yourself a FA. Take this as a double success, you really had two lucid moments here.
You did it just right, you told the shaking to stop, and it did… a little. Don’t wait it out though, all you did there was expect it to continue. Instead, go about what you wanted to do, or do some of the techniques mentioned in the forums to increase your lucidity. You were there!
If the vibrations (or any other hindering effect) is bothering you, tell it to stop and believe it, and it will stop. If you think it will continue, it will continue.
You’re there, you had 2 lucid moments, the next time it happens, you probably won’t vibrate at all, but if you do, don’t let it bother you, it’ll go away or you can intend it away.
Hi and welcome to ld4all and congrats on your LD!
The vibrations are usually associated with SP and the process of the body falling asleep. I get it sometimes too I’m not sure how to stop it though, it might be a matter of practice and getting used to the whole thing and learn how to relax and wait it out. Maybe getting more imersed in the dream will help, I don’t know, like touching stuff and forgetting about the vibrations. Maybe with some practice, the command will work too
