Waking up

Im still trying to ld but i’ve been telling my gf about it and she pretty much ld’d straight away which was a bit annoying as i’ve been trying on and off for some time now. Anyway both her and a friend have both scared themselves away from ld’ing by not being able to wake up.

My gf (Roz) said she knew she was dreaming but could feel her arm against the cold wall next her bed and also hear herself snoring lol. She was having a really bad dream about some wierd woman telling her she was going to hell etc. and she’d had an FA and this woman re-appeared, it all sounded very terrifying and she doesnt want to ld anymore. She has lots of disturbing dreams and I’ve been trying to get her to go lucid again to try and help sort them out.

My friend said he was having FA’s while ld’ing and couldnt wake up, he actually thought he was dead at one point and he’s also never tried ld’ing since.

I had a brief ld when i was on holiday where I looked in the mirror and I had a massive arfo perm (im actually bald lol), and was looking at myself thinking “yep, theres defo something wrong here” and realised it was a dream but Roz was there trying to convince me i wasnt dreaming and to stay, i said i’d prove it by waking up, i tried and failed the first time and then the second time i imagined myself waking up in my bed and that did the trick.

Anybody got any good waking up methods???

Try to feel your real body lying in bed, with the blankets. You need to concentrate on that. The dream kind of fades to black and as soon as you notice, you’re in bed, with your eyes closed.

Another good method, which is easier to get through, is to close your eyes inside de dream, wait a moment, and open them again. Many people (me included) seem to open their real eyes when doing that.

Some people also like to have a really scary experience, so they jump off buildings in their dreams to wake up, I don’t like this method, but it works nonetheless. :content:

That one works best for me, I start with thinking that my body is “out there” lying in my usual sleeping position and then concentrate on feeling my bed.

Closing your eyes can have several effects, I mostly use it to change the dream if I don’t like it, but if I want i can also use it wake up.
One time I closed my eyes accidently and woke up.^^

best method that worfs for me - do ABSOLUTELY nothing in the LD.

just stand up with a blank mind and the dream will soon fade, dont think of anything just let your mind wander.
