Was i close to something? / Success!

Well i have been studying LD’ing for a while, really just trying hard within the past week. Mainly trying to play with the WILD technique with no real success yet. But last night i kept with it a lot longer than usual. Usually my body just becomes numb after about 10-15 minutes, and i stay in this state for like an hour doing a few different things.

But last night after about the 400 mark on counting/breathing/imagining stuff, i felt as if my hands were no longer where they were, but twisted and in a completely different position, and i started seeing things really clearly but only in a small circle, everything around it was black. the circle of “vision” moved around and i saw a few things, a nintendo controller for one (lol) and then it dissapeared… not much happened after this and i just went to sleep.

Any ideas? could be nothing just looking for someone to chime in on it…

You were in the hypnagogic state. That’s a good point, but I can’t help you with good techniques. I’m not a WILD’er.

Yes that’s HI for me too. Or alot like it but it doesn’t usually take me that long and my hands feel like they are suspended in mid air. I can’t feel them touching anything but I can feel them sorta vibrate. Oh I should probably mention I’ve never successfully gotten lucid doing this

thx for the replies… thats about as far as ive gotten with Wild’ing but last night i was SO CLOSE to a LD!

What happened was i was extremely tired for once so i just decided to try MILD and go to sleep, and i was in an out of sleep for the first hour but i ended up dreaming about me laying in bed Wild’ing (on my stomach)… but i didn’t do a reality check and i ended up really waking up (on my back) … and that pissed me off lol but its all good because im getting closer everyday …

YAY i finally did it… well i say finally like its been a year but its only been about a week now.

Im not sure what technique it would qaulify as but it was a WBTB i guess because i had to get up to use the bathroom in the morning and took forever to get back to sleep. But i didn’t do any MILD stuff before going to sleep i just tried to go back to sleep.

Anyways i ended up in a dream where i was a soldier (i play battlefield 2, a war game alot) and i had just shot like 4 guys and ran out of ammo and this woman solder started shooting at me, so i just kinda decided to give up. She came towards me and knocked me down, put the gun to my throat and began shooting.

But for whatever reason at this point i was just like whatever lets see what happens (this is when i knew i was dreaming, i never told myself that i just knew it) and the gun felt like a blow drier . and when she started shooting me i could feel everything just getting REALLY intense and i told myself i was going to use this to become lucid. So i did and i ended up back in my bed.

Not quite sure if it worked or not i decided to do the breathe through the closed noise RC and it worked! I was so stoked but i was still in my bed. I looked at my door and could see people walking by, it seemed so real it was amazing. I didn’t get much further than this because i woke up unfortunately but man it was cool for the 30 seconds in dream time it lasted

Just wanted to share my success…
-Dustin

Congratulations on your LD! And we can do a lot in 30 seconds…it is enough to experience that feeling!

CONGRATS!

I had another LD this morning… yay

well i am really having false awakenings i guess because i always go from a dream to my bed but im still dreaming. So this time immediately tried to get out of bed not wasting anytime, after doing the nose RC, but i started to fall onto my floor and drifted back to reality… that sucked but 2 days in a row is sweet, im getting somewhere at least.

He he! That’s great! Congrats Dekand!
You should try the rubbing hands technique to stabilize your dream and make him last longer.

yeah i forgot to try that, i will next time. It seems this is happening everyday. I have a dream that something intense happens and i get that feeling like im about to wake up but i end up still dreaming, today i did the same thing but actually did wake up for some reason, i think i was just in too light of a sleep at the time.

anyways yeah i’ll try the hands thing next time

Hey basilus thanks for reminding me of rubbing the hands. it really worked out for me

I had 2 lucid dreams this morning both the same as my other 2 with me going from a ND and getting warped into my bed at home.

The first one was my longest to date because i remembered to rub my hands together and that kept me in . I finally got out of my bed after 2 dreams and got to explore my dream house (not literally my “Dream” house you know what i mean. lol) and i walked into my living room where everyone was surprisingly awake at what was like 3am dream time. So i went in and started to show off by moving things with my mind, pushing the dogs across the floor, making things float, etc.

I then tried to turn a toy hamburger into a cat but that didn’t work, but i know it was because i really didn’t believe i could even though i knew i was dreaming.

So after that i ended up fading back to reality… OR SO I THOUGHT! lol i was in bed for like 5 minutes trying to get back to either sleep or a WILD … and then i realized i was STILL dreaming so i did the nose RC and was laughing because i just wasted that time in bed.

So i got out of bed again, seemingly like i started all over, stumbling, etc. This time i decided to go out to my garage instead of my living room. I opened the door and saw 3 quakerstate green cars in my garage (not sure why im not into nascar or anything) but more importantly i wanted to keep going to get outside but my dad called me back in to work on the mustang which we had to put new headlights on or something (we dont even own a mustang… )

I was so close to getting outside and getting to do some real stuff like flying, but that will happen next time, which at this pace should be tommorow…

Oh yeah just wanna put out a thanks to everyone and the LD4all website who have truly put me on the right road and helped me get started in this awesome quest.
