WBTB Annoyance

So last night I went to bed at 3 AM trying WILD, that failed (as it tends to lately)and I fell asleep. I was extremely tired so I didn’t think it’d work. I randomly (and by randomly I mean no alarm clock or anything waking me up) woke up at 6 AM this morning, giving me 3 hours of sleep total. I got online while it was still dark outside, turned on my computer, and tried not to go blind. I read a few articles on LDing and went back to bed. After only what seemed like 20 seconds, my body felt as if it disappeared. I lay in bed, counting “1 I’m dreaming, 2 I’m dreaming” until I got into what felt like a dream. I could barely see anything that was going on, and I could still feel my physical body so it was like a thin layer of lucidity. I tried multiple times to get into a dream, lying there up to half an hour. Every 10 minutes or so I would try to do an RC, and end up pulling myself back to reality.

Does anyone know why I couldn’t enter the dream?

I guess you simply did not fall asleep at all and all you experienced was just of hypnagogic nature. My personal experience tells me, that you can spend literally hours in such a “borderland” state.

Dude, if your eyes are closed, and you can’t see much if front of you, don’t move. Wait until you can see a lot in front of you because they you will know that you are in a dream. When you do see a lot in front of you, then do a RC.
