WBTB + WILD failing all the time

Guys, I have a very serious problem. I’ve been doing WBTB + WILD for 2 months now, and not even got a HI. My problem is that when my alarm wakes me up at 5:00 PM, I just turn it off and sleep some more. I barely remember that I was awake. This happenns 99% of the time. And if it doesnt, and I try to do WILD, I forget to count in like 10 seconds and fall asleep. I know I should wake up for an hour or so, but this is not possible for 2 major reasons:

  1. Im a very light sleeper, I might not asleep at all if I got out of the bed!
  2. My parents hate my LDing anyway, and wouldnt allow me to be awake because of that.

So, ideas?

Thx

You don’t need to be awake for a whole hour, I can’t do that either. Just put your alarm clock on the other side of the room so you have to stand up, go to the bathroom, do a number 1 and wash your face. Drink some water, eat something, read a book (could help if it was LD-related) and after mayby 20 minutes, go back to bed and use the WILD-method. It worked with me but everyone is different.

Good luck,

Yes, you do have to stay awake for a whole hour, even more.
Don’t ask me for an explination just yet, but believe me. I will be providing substantial peer-reviewed scientific data to show why, shortly, when I have time to sift through it and make some simplistic translations.

Do you want to WILD or do you want to have LD’s? If you want to have LD’s and you haven’t had the faintest result with WILD, I would advice you to choose a DILD method.

I don’t necessarily agree that you have to be awake an hour or more, but for me the majority of instances where a WILD has occured has been after napping and then going to bed 2-3 hours later. However I have also had them straight after going to bed so who knows?

Well, when I was in hospital like 2 months ago, they always woke me up at 6:00 AM for some ■■■■, then I could sleep until 7:30 AM. Once when I was asleeping again, I was seeing some small images and then BOOM! A huge image appeared in the front of my closed eyes(HI), but then it dissapeared. Is this a “faintest result”?

The few times I have WBTBed, I’ve only stayed awake for a few seconds, then WILD back to sleep. Staying up for a long period didn’t seem to help in my case, so maybe you can try out different times.

As for the alarm, why not try using your internal body clock? Tell yourself that you want to get up at a certain time instead of having to rely on the clock.

Good luck.

You dont need to stay a wake a whole hour, half an hour should be ok.

Why dont you stay in bed and read for a while?

You said in your first post that you even didn’t got a HI for 2 months. That’s why I found that it was useless to continue with this method.

Put your alarm at the other side of the room. Then try to reproduce the conditions in which you got HI at the hospital.
