I have a question about WILDing. When I have lied on the bed long enough I start feeling weird tension in parts from my body and when it happens it’s hard to not move the part which is under tension and when my whole body is under this weird feeling I just HAVE to change my position.
I think the weird tension in muscles is related to Sleep Paralysis but I’m not sure about this and would like to know if someone has experienced this too and can explain.
When you normally sleep your body always get that “tension” but because your mind is “sleeping” you don’t feel it but you always move your position while sleeping without noticing. Now that you’re WILD’ing you are conscious of the tension.
This might be off topic, but I just remembered it while reading this post. You know when you’re in light sleep, seeing HI or mini-dreams and all, then suddenly you JOLT awake… what’s up with that?! Whenever I jolt, my vision (with my eyes closed) is splashed with this brilliant white light for a split second. Has anyone else had this?!
I have just started back trying to LD. I tried WILD yesterday and was successful!! But it didn’t last very long…
When doing WILD I can feel my body get this tension or heaviness. But instead of jerking I just go with it and find it relaxing. And I keep following the HI and the next thing I know I’m LDing!
ynaffit,
Well, it ususally only ever happens when I’m dreaming, and in the mini-dream something will happen like I’ll trip or slip or something, and so my feet/legs jerk/react as if to stabalize me. I heard it was sleep disorder, but I guess I’m used to those (major SP)
IMO, that’s not sleep paralysis. It happens to me too, and it ruins my WILD attemps (when I move). I think you just have to try and not to move.
That’s normal. It’s called an hypnagogic jerk. There is no explanation yet, but I assume it’s because your body looses its physical sensations, and the brain interpretes this as a fall. I used to have that too when I was getting asleep on the back. But now it has disappeared.
Connections in our bodies are based on electricity. And as in every electrical device there are sometimes problems like this.Spark here, spark there you know:)
Haha, thanks for that Jack! I figured it had something to do with our electricity, cos I can pretty much see the spark as a huge flash of white light. Also before I fall asleep I’ll have little twitches here and there (electricity again) so I know I’m on the verge of sleep.
Interesting thing to do… Find a staticky carpet, get someone to walk around, then zap the bottom of your forearm. If they hit a … whatever the things connecting to your fingers are… your finger will seriously twitch. Bonus points for doing it in the dark with a hot girl in places other than your arm…
Something I think helps relax your body (completely), and would probably significantly help during wilding is to slowely turn your body into stone (hear me out). You start with your toes - you just scrunch them as tight as you can, and then relax. After this imagine (as best as possible) that your toes are made of very heavy rock and that you cannot move them no matter how hard you try. after your toes, slowely work your way up to your feet, trying your very best to imagine as well as possible that your appendages are actually turning to stone. By the time you’re to the top of your head your whole body should be relaxed enough that you find it hard to move/pick them up.
Since doing this right takes some time (up to an hour if you do it as slowely and convincingly as possible) you would probably find that the rest of the WILDing process goes quickly from here.
