Today I woke up at 4.30 am (I set my alarm clock) I went back at about 6.30 am and slept for 4 hours. I had an amazing dream and I say this man. He had grey short hair and was wearing blue monks robes with gold along the sides. He also had a book and he kept following me around talking to me, but I just ignored him. I think he was my spirit guide im not really sure. But he just followed me around talking strange things. And also in the dream I did a RC I tryed to put my finger through my hand and I did but it just sunk into the middle of my hand. It was really strange.
So when I woke up I didnt need to rember the dream it was just in my head. Usally I have to rember it.
From what I understand your RC DID work but not in the way you expected, why you didn’t become lucid is probably because of the attitude that the RC is going to MAKE you lucid. The RC is just a test, YOU must become lucid yourself. That means you gotta ask yourself if you’re dreaming when you do the RC, and think about if the outcome is realistic.
When you say, remember it straight away I get the impression that you were aware when you woke up, and I think that is the answer. If you are aware at the moment you wake up, and you wake up straight from a dream, you will remember the dream.
As for spirit guides, I don’t believe in them so I won’t touch that one.
RC actually serves two purposes. First one is indeed making sure that the surroundings is dream after you became lucid. But they are also meant to be tools used for achieving lucidity. Just like stigler expected, they can trigger it.
Unfortunately, like everything related to LD, effect isn’t guaranteed I can only speculate that not achieving lucidity even after RC that failed is some lack of readiness to acknowledge fact that you can be dreaming consiously. I think you must simply convince yourself (autosuggestion etc.) that LD is a true possibility, not some theoretical idea. Then your SC should “catch” that and render you lucid after another failed RC.
Yes they are both very valid comments. And its true, I didnt ask myself if I was dreaming at the time. I thought it would trigger me to believe Im dreaming but obviously not.
