Well, i used the MILD technique the day before thanksgiving to have a LD at probably around 3am on thanksgiving day (the mantra was "At 3:00 AM tomorrow, I will realize that I’m dreaming.)
I tried this again yesterday, but i ended up having a dream at 3am where i was talking about mantras (i know it was at that time because i woke up after the dream)
It went like this.
Me: With the MILD technique, you just have to recite a phrase over and over in your head, confidently, before you go to sleep. That’s what I did to have a lucid dream a few days ago.
Mom: Hmm.
Me: People say that you are probably going to be in REM phases by around 6 hrs after you go to sleep. So you could say “6 hours from now, I will realize that I’m dreaming.”
Mom: Hmm.
Nothing went wrong, you’re heading in the right direction. What you’re doing is setting an alarm in your head that says “HEY, REMEMBER THIS!!!” Your SC did remember dreaming, and LD and MILD, but the intention didn’t quite get through. But the thing here is you did get through, and you’re bound to break a few eggs to make an omlette. Keep practicing MILD, if you can wake up 5-6 hours after you first go to sleep and try again then, and above all don’t give up.
Also, make sure you do RC’s throughout the day so you are used to wondering whether you are dreaming or not. MILD and RCILD work very well together; you may even change your mantra to “, I will remember to do an RC.” That one has helped me a lot.
