Weird problem with WILD?

Hi, I haven’t been here at the forums for a long time, but I wanted to come back to ask something. :content:

I attempted to do a WILD last night after sleeping 6 hours. For the first 2 times I felt a buzzing sensation, but then it died down a while later and I was still awake. The third time I gave up, and decided to try sleeping instead. What’s funny is that this time (I think) I managed to become lucid! But there’s a problem: I’m in my bed, it’s dark, but… I can’t get out of my room. I’ve seriously tried to get out the door, but the moment I step out, I find myself back in bed for some reason. I get up and try another way out, but I wind up back in bed. I tell myself that I’m dreaming and should be able to, but I can’t. Maybe I’m just not conscious enough or something? Other dreams too, I was aware that I was dreaming but I was never able to do anything lucid-like, no matter how much I focused and tried. My ultimate goal is to fly in my dreams. I have never done that in my life, and I’m really, really hoping I’ll be able to do that someday.

It kind of sounds like you were having an OOBE. ; )

Well, in my experience, it’s easier to not try to do anything. Just do it. Give up any thoughts about it, don’t think “This is my dream, I can do this, come on, I can do this!” just flow with your dream, and allow it to happen. No effort is needed.

Don’t try to move around, just move around.

Hope this helps you.

Oh seriously, an OOBE? :open_mouth: Thanks a lot, I will try that!

When I read this, I think “why the simpliest things are the harder to achieve ?”

I don’t know yet another way to “let it happen” if I don’t encourage myself.

Oops. Making excuses again I guess

Colors: Wow really? It’s too easy to let my dream happen for me!

Darn, I failed last night (fell asleep) so I’ll try again tonight. ^^

But here’s something interesting: a few days before the above OOBE mentioned, I had another one similar to it. But that time I was in bed and couldn’t open my eyes. I kept trying to and would succeed for a second, then my eyelids would close. You know, it’s kinda like that feeling when you’re extremely sleepy and can’t keep your eyes open. While I was surfing on Google for some LD techniques today, I found this website that apparently issues that problem exactly: lucidology.com/blog/98/lucid … blindness/ Pretty neat, huh?

Another thing I noticed with those 2 OOBEs is that: both times, I kept trying to do something, succeeded for an instant, then get pulled back immediately after. The first one was with opening my eyes, the second was with opening the door… does anyone see something strange here? :eh:

EDIT: Also, when I couldn’t open my eyes for the 5th time, I got exasperated and told myself, “Wake up!” in order to open up my eyes. I actually opened my eyes in real life.
