I’m starting to read Eldest. It’s the second book of a Trilogy. I first started reading the first book back when I was in 7th grade (2003/2004 I think) and I have complete forgotten about the second book. Good trilogy too.
Oh man, that’s quite possibly my favorite series ever. (there’s 7 other books with 1 or 2 on the way… ) It’s split into two separate series, each in its own direction about two big characters and their friends/family.
I’m not really reading anything right now, but in the last year I’ve devoured all of the Guardians of Ga’Hoole books. I know it’s a little-kid series but it’s pretty deep at times and I love the story.
The Transal Saga is another good book, a stand-alone book, about being transported to another world. Again it is below my reading level but it’s amazing.
But most importantly, I just finished the His Dark Materials series (or atleast the first 3 books). My favorite books EVER! I couldn’t stop crying at the end.
I just started it yesterday, don’t know if I like it yet.
Earlier this week I’d read Mutation, Mortal Fear, & Outbreak by Robin Cook, and (at the suggestion of someone else) Wish You Well by David Baldacci.
I’ve read more books in the past week than I have in the past 5 years, hehe. I decided that since I’m up at night due to insomnia, I may get back into reading. It’s better than watching reruns from the 90s or surfing the web.
I like his books. They’re obviously his first, but Paolini has some great ideas and he sure knows how to make a story interesting. Agh! So many spoilers I could rant about here! Have fun with… trying to figure out who the red dragon on the cover is.
PS: last month, Paolini announced that he isn’t able to fit everything into the third book and he’s going to extend it into a fourth.
