What is it like?

I’m just curious, for those frequent lucid dreamers, what is it like to know you can lucid dream? The sense of knowing that everything when you lucid dream is in your control and you can bend with naught but your mind? That it has happened and will happen again? Is it as if it happened in waking life as clear and crisp as that? Or fuzzy like it happened a long time ago? What does the feeling feel like?

It can feel just as vivid as real life - however, you always have that surrealistic and otherwordly atmosphere in lucid dreams, when everything feels new and unexplored.
For example, if you were to gaze at some distant mountains in a lucid dream, you wouldn’t have an idea what could be behind them - it could be anything you want.
Same with deep lakes - if you jump into a lake in a lucid dream you will often find yourself exploring another vivid dream encironment full of mysteries, and you will always be aware that absolutely anything in the dream will surprise you in strange ways.
You also know that while you are in the dream you have the right to do absolutely anything you want, so there are no restrictions or rules, which gives an incredible feeling of pure freedom.
Do you wanna make a silly dance on the spot? That’s fine.
Do you wanna walk up and kiss a hottie? That’s alright as well.
Do you wanna steal someone’s car? No problem!

One way to get a foretaste of what pure freedom feels like is to take a walk in real life, somewhere peaceful, preferably on an early and misty Summer morning, and imagine that you had the power to jump into the air and fly away somewhere.
Keep imagining that for a while and think of what you would like to accomplish once you have taken flight.
When I personally think about this I often actually find myself laughing silently at myself, just because it’s such an exhilarating fantasy.
This feeling is obviously also great for your motivation.
