what to expect when RC's are done

Hey all,

In real ife When I do a reality check ( i am doing them quite often) I don’t really know what to expect, like i think to my self “I am dreaming! do a reality check” and i imagine that i can’t see my nose and look at it and of course its there. When I see it I don’t know what to think. So i think “I am not dreaming, and I am dissapointed”

I always know though in the back of my mind “of course you are awake” Should i not think that?

 you have got to expect the RCs to prove that you are dreaming. if you think you are awake and do them expecting it to be RL … this same feeling could carry over into your dreams when you do RCs… and so you will see what you expect to see… a failed RC

so what should my mind set be?[/u]

“WTF, why the heck can i see my nose”

“WTF why can i not breathe through my nose”

so after

“WTF, why the heck can i see my nose”

“WTF why can i not breathe through my nose”

I should tell myself i’m not dreaming?

be like wow i cant believe i was wrong, next time i will be dreaming though.

never make it routine enough to go, eh i knew i wasnt dreaming anyway, because when that happens, you are almost immune to it.

at least thats how it is for me.

for me, there is no particular mind set. Just be serious when you are doing a reality check. You are doing it because you know that a dream can be very similar to reality. So when you are doing a reality check, don’t expect anything at all. Just do the reality check, and think to conclude whether you are in a dream. The thinking part is the important part. Like R3TRO said, it cannot turn into a routine.

Everytime you do a reality check, you should actually stop and think about the conclusion.

tris69, generally you have to question reality, asking to yourself “Am I dreaming?” and expect the RC to succeed.
