Why do some dreams show more imagination than others?

If somebody could answer this, then i will finally be happy. I asked this, because one night, i actually dreameed a totally pointless dream. I dreamt that i woke up, saw there was nothing to do, so i went back to sleep. Why did i show absolutely no imagination in this one, yet so much in others?

lol, maybe you did verry little the day before?
or it’s just your mind’s way of showing it’s bored:P
or it’s allready processed everything from the day before so has nothing more to do

I’m pretty sure none of those are true, when i havent done anything the day before, thats when they are at their most imaginitive. My mind never gets bored, due to either it being constantly used for completely random things. I think it may have been an LD. i had thought o myself, wouldnt it be funny if i had a dream about waking up then going back to sleep. then voila! there it was, my totally pointless LD.

lol i don’t think it was, i allso think in my dreams, and controll my moves but i don’t think that’s an LD, cos my mind subconciously makes me do certain things so you follow the flow of your dream

Sirius is right, That wasn’t a LD (unless you realised you were dreaming) You only said that you would dream about it and you really dreamed about it.

About your question, that’s maybe on of the things. If you want to dream about waking up and go back to sleep you might do that.
Or (like sirius said) the brain has already processed everything.
Maybe the mind isn’t that imaginable that day. You have that sometimes on daytime too. At least I do.
You might not remember the imaginable part of the dream.
And there are probably a lot more better reason which I can’t think of right now but someone else probably does.

I remember the whole dream, and i also knew i was dreaming. I always know i am dreaming. Heres another LD i had once. I had to jump into somebodys garden to get a ball one of my friends had kicked in there. A dog came out and charged at me, so i flew away. While i was flying i suddenly lost the ability to fly, i fell and landed sitting down on a wooden chair, which then promptly exploded due to the dynamite all around it. I died. So, my LD was completely unimaginative once, then it was strangely imaginative and morbid another time. can you explain that?

since you always know that you are dreaming.
you should ask the dream characters in your dreams these questions.
that way you will find out what your subconscious is upto

Okay then, theres just one problem, there is rarely any people in my LDs. :wallhit:

summon one!
say when I open this door I will see someone
or when i turn around I will see someone

hmm, thats the only part that hasnt worked so far… maybe i could try it. Because normally, i don’t want people around in my LDs. but i think i will try it. One problem, there is a complete lack of sound in my dreams, so unless they wrote it down, or i had subtitles, i wouldn’t be able to know what they were trying to tell me.

demand sound and expect sound and you will have sound

or expect to communicate telepathically

there are ways around it

One thing, it never has sound, but its like they do communicate telepathically, only different. its hard to explain, i cant hear them, but i can.

DAMMIT! I summoned somebody into my LD, i asked the person why people have LDs. I was about to find out, then the dream ended! ARGH! :ack: :wallhit:  :grrr:  :help:

hi : )

It was from another thread, but someone posted that many times a person become lucid because there is nothing going on in the dream momentarily (your subcon is afk, answering phone call, stretching her back, etc…). So it isn’t that your LDs are boring, but that sometimes the bordom made you lucid.

I get quite many LDs that are very normal. Especially WILDs. It is as if the subcon has its own schedule. My good LDs are usually the ones I get when I sleep at normal times.

Okay, but like i said, I had another LD yesterday, IT FADED OUT! I asked a question i really wanted to know, and the DAMN THING FADED! ARGH!

Why are some dreams more imaginative than others? I have no idea. It doesn’t seem to be related to how interesting my real life is at any given time.

Just yesterday morning I had a highly creative dream in which I invented an entirely new musical instrument (it’s not in my DJ yet… it’s taking me a while to type up). At other times I have really unimaginative dreams which might be fun - ie, flying or running, but are extremely unoriginal. I do believe I even dreamed of a maths assignment once - how unimaginative!

lol, i got an even more boring one, i was sitting next to maths teacher in a geo class, 2 most boring things in school
