WILD and MEETING

Hi Boys,
i´m new at Lucid dreaming (i started on Saturday^^) and i tried a WILD technic that is called “reverse wink” (you lay down, relax and close your eyes. Then you open it for a part of a second. After 5 minutes oder longer it starts) at first, everything went good, i was paralysed and i was standing short before a dream. But i didn´t go on because i had a bit fear (^^). Now i want to ask you if it wont work when you do it to often???

My second question: Is it possible to meet other dreamers in a lucid dream when you have arranged it with him?

I’m not entirely sure what you are asking there. I’ve not heard of the technique you describe, so I probably can’t answer if it is related to your technique. I don’t think the frequency of your attempts to WILD would stop you WILDing, if that’s what you are asking.

It depends on your beliefs and what you are asking.
If you mean to meet with somebody as in a shared dream experiance that both of you have. It depends on your beliefs, some believe it is, some don’t. Personally I’m unsure.

It is certainly possible for you to meet somebody you know in a dream, as a dream character. They would not be the actual person though, just a creation of your mind. Arranging to meet them in real life could be an effective technique to incubate dreams like this.

Thank you for he answer. That helped me
about “reverse Winking”: Can you speak German? When yes you can look by Wikipedia.de under “klarträumen” then “Technik” then Wikibook and you can read about (sry i cant describe good)^^
Edit: here is a link (sry): de.wikibooks.org/wiki/Klartraum:_Techniken
then go under through WILD (not in the tabbel)
and the last paragraph is about it.
Ok i just have another question: When can i do WILD´s? I know best time is morning. But could it work NOW???

Unfortunately I can’t read German well enough to read the German Wikibook. I took a look at the English Version but I couldn’t seem to find a technique like the one you described.

To answer your question, WILD works best with Wake Back To Bed, also known as WBTB. You can try it at any time, but you are much less likely to be successful. During afternoon naps is also a good time to try, but it is not as good as with WBTB.

Ok i´ll try it. Thank you for the very good help :content:
and:
If anybody is interested on the “reverse wink” technic, can write a Pm to me…

The more you use a technique the better you get at it, so I don’t think it will stop working. Although RC’s are known to stop working sometimes.

Isn’t that the same as ‘reverse Blinking?’ im sure some of you have heard of it.

what do you mean “do it too often”? it could work whenever, it’s just easier to do it certain hours of the day, or it also depends on your diet (bananas are good for dreaming ) but it all depends on how good you are at it, practice

Yeah i think its “reverse Blinkuing” (my english you know^^)
And i have tried the method first and it was a very hard paralysis, then is does it in school and stopped after a minute (one time i got in a light paralys) and now when i try it (i do it a little bit different) its not so hard (the paralysis) and i dont come when i close my eyes to the HI, can anybody explain it (or i´ll ry it again  )

Hey everyone, I googled it and found a description of the Reverse Blinking Technique (I’m gonna try this tonight since I haven’t been doing very well with normal WILDing =D). So anyways, here’s my paraphrased version of the technique:
1-Get into a comfortable position (preferably on your back)
2- Relax. (A simple way is to start from bringing your awareness to your feet and feel the tension leaving them and then do the same with your calves, knees, etc. all the way up to your neck, face, and head.)
3- Aproximately every 5 secons open your eyes quickly, only long enough to focus on something (like an object in your room or something like that) and then close them. (That’s the reverse blinking part)
4- As you continue doing this and get deeper into this technique, the vibrations will start. Soon you will no longer feel your physical body and it will feel like “you are mentally falling into an abyss” (I kept that part as is since i couldn’t put it better myself ) and then the HI will begin.
5- Watch the HI passively, without really paying attention to any of it. Just simple observe it as it comes. Wait tilll the HI becomes clearer and more real. When you feel like its possible, when you just know, walk ino the dream.

**NOTE: You stop doing the reverse blinking when your eyelids feel too heavy and its a struggle to keep them open and you feel like you can actually fall asleep.

K so those are the steps. It sounds pretty cool to me =D. Also, the guy had a bunch of tips after the description of the technique so here’s my version of them:
1st Tip: For HI, one good way to “grab hold” of an object is to use your will to make it spin. Doing that will make the object clearer.
2nd Tip: When you want to increase the amount of HI you are seeing, try to look “beyond it” instead of with your physical eyes. This will cause a lot of very clear HI.
3rd Tip: To get to SP faster, you can twitch your muscles. After doing Reverse Blinking for a period of time, gently twitch your arm muscles without actually moving your arm (just try to get a tiny bit of nerve impulse there to make those muscles relax and tense) every 5- 15 seconds. This helps because you trick your body into thinking not only that you are already asleep and in the dream state but also that you’re in paralysis already. By twitching but not actually moving anything you are recreating what it would be like if you were already deeply asleep and so you will probably reach SP quicker than you usually would. (You don’t have to continue Reverse Blinking while doing the musle twitching thing. Just simply try to reach total SP and then watch for the HI so that you can go into the dream.)

Alright so here’s the original link that i got it from (btw it’s a cached page since the real link doesn’t have ny of this information.):

K enjoy everyone and I hope this helped!!

how long should you do the blinking?? Until you enter SP? :eh:

you stop when your eyelids feel to heavy and u feel like you can fall asleep.
