For the past couple of weeks I have been going to bed really late and sleeping in late. I know it’s a bad habit but it’s really hard to break during the summer. Because of this, many WILD attempts fail and end up getting bored of trying and just go to sleep. But yesterday night was different. I managed to encounter 3 short rounds of SP which were quite different then my last case of SP.
When I first started exploring SP and WILD, the HH I would experience were “fun” in my opinion. I would experience an upward acceleration of high speeds and hear a sound like somebody on the ground listening to a jet plane fly high in the sky. The SP would last about a minute and I would get some HI.
But last night was pretty different. The feeling of this SP was quite enjoyable and relaxing. The sounds I experienced in this SP was like a pulsating washing machine but I didn’t have any HI at all. I didn’t experience any scary HH but I closed my eyes anyways hoping to induce a WILD. These bursts of SP only lasted 6 or 5 seconds at the most.
Are yesterday’s effects probably the result of going to bed late and sleeping in late? I find that it’s harder for me to experience any HI now and it’s putting a slump in my WILD attempts and practise. And should I keep my eyes open for SP or close them?
Are you sure you were getting SP, some people mistakenly think it’s the tingly sort of Numbness you feel after a while, but thatls just sort of a prelude to SP. It would also explain why there was no HH or LD. If it wasn’t really SP then I would say it was probably that you expected to get SP too soon and confused it with random Numbness, and the sound you hear could possibly of just been your heart or something. Also in my experience I’ve found you don’t have to be in SP to start hearing weird sounds… Other than that I have no helpful advice 'cus i’ve never succesfully WILDed so you might get better advice from someone wiht a little more experience.
P.S. Since WILD is basically trying to convince your mind that your bodies asleep I would suggest having your eyes closed, unless of course, you normally sleep with them open…
It was full SP. I couldn’t move at all and it was very hard to breathe through my mouth because it wouldn’t open. Plus it felt like I was sinking into the bed.
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
That’s okay. That was only my second time I had an SP-active night so I think I might need to explore it some more.
Muzzius: It’s always good to check first to see that the person actually did have SP.
PlasmaShock:
SP is basically your body sleeping but your mind is awake. Now, if your mind is too awake you will not experience as strong HI or HS, and is more likely to wake up rather than falling asleep. As you suspected this is very likely to be caused by your good sleep
Practice on relaxing and those stuff, so you can enter a dream from SP. It is still possible, you just have to punch a little harder to break through.
