Last night I woke up after having around 5 hours sleep, so I figured… what the heck i’ll try and do WILD. The thing is, I had overslept the previous night so I wasn’t exactly tired when I WBTB do to the WILD.
Eventually I found myself drifting off, still remembering that i’m trying to Lucid Dream. As I think of dreaming (mostly all i’m actually seeing is blackness still) I think about how i’m dreaming, and… surely enough my body starts to shake and I feel as if i’m at a stage to Enter my dream. It’s like, trying to move my dream body without my human body, to transfer from human to dream body. As I tried to force myself into the dream it failed…
I then went on to try it again (at least twice more), but each time I tried to get into the dream it failed. The last attempt I tried to “roll” out of my bed. At first, I was trying to move my body but it felt as if it wouldn’t move… so I tried a little harder and I moved my body over, and woke up. lol.
Well, that was a useless attempt… I don’t quite understand how to enter the dream, I figure I was trying to enter the dream too early. Later I managed to, see quite clearly images in my mind. I was still looking at the blackness, but I began to be able to picture things with great clarity, only for a moment though and then they faded away into blackness.
nods It is! I have the same problem (though I didn’t try to move me dream body). The transition begins, but somehow you never get trough…
I’ve been looking stuff up, and I read you should simply stay still, yet conscious. Just let it happen. And if you experience things, you could try and imagine what they could be. If you see flashes, imagine it’s lightning or fireworks. If you feel vibrations, imagine you’re on the bonnet of a car or something.
I didn’t got to try this myself, but I thought it might help you… Good luck!
Well, I went to sleep early because I was very tired from yesterday. I attempted WILD although I eventually fell asleep. In my dream i’m on the beach and it looks so peaceful. Oddly, i’m there with my mum and when I turn around I see a bunch of girls I know.
I decide to go say hi to them, but I was thinking of just ignoring them to get in the water. I took a sip of my bottled-water and intended to go to the water from there but when all of a sudden I couldn’t move my body.
I felt paralyzed, and dreamt that I was falling down back-towards the ground. As I fell I thought to myself “will I be ok?, will anyone notice i’m not ok?, will I be able to get out of this situation without anyone noticeing?”…
Then I tried to open my eyes as I realised I was sleeping and I was stil paralyzed. The part of me that was paralyzed seemed to be my torso, because I felt like I couldn’t breathe because of it.
I assume this was my first experience at SP… although it occured all of a sudden in a dream, before I realised it was a dream? When I woke up it was 2 hours later, then I managed to sleep for another 2 hours in the boiling heat where I am now up and writing this down.
Sounds like it might have been SP wearing off if it was just your torso. But how did it feel? Did it feel like you were too tired to move, or did it literally feel like you couldn’t move even after you would try moving? Because in SP, it’s not that you don’t feel like moving, it’s that you absolutely can’t move (except eyes, eyelids, fingertips, etc.)
Wow last night i was sleeping (i havent had an LD in a while )
and i begin to feel the SP set in. I start to focus and try zooming in on my HHs. Usually when i do i can start to WILD.
Not this time. I’m trying to relax my breathing and keep my mind focused at the same time. Pretty soon im either in a LD or a pretty intense HH, but not a WILD ive so grown to love.
No, this was not as vivid and it was becoming a burden to try to get into the real deal. i think i got frustrated and then woke up in SP. Not thinking about trying to focus or roll over or anything to get back into an LD, I begin to panick. SP lasted for around 10 minutes and was not fun. I’ve never had SP set in after waking. Anyone got any advice ? I know i was close , what did i do wrong?
It took me three hours but i was able to remain aware while falling asleep. Being sleepy and relaxed is definately important. I remember during the transition stage and the vibration and noise that was with me everywhere. I was determined and was so close but kept slipping away since it was my first time and it was intense… instead i let the feeling come naturally and kept thinking im dreaming. This in the end led me to a false awakening in which i got up and did a couple things. But things were a little off. The thought of me dreamig was still present so i decided to fly since this is is what i usually like to do in my past lucid dreams. I jumped towards my window and failed… but i fell in slow motion and it didnt hurt although i yelled in my mind. After this i woke up for real. I cant believe i did it.
What is sleep paralysis and does it make u get sick? I just experienced sleep paralysis yesterday for the first time, i dreamed about someone waking me up which is impossible cause i always lock my door. and when i opened my eyes i saw this black figure standing beside my bed. I freaked out and cant scream and move, the next day i got fever, runny nose and cough, am i being possesed?
hahaha, SP is perfectly safe. You are experiencing SP your whole life but unconsciously the only difference now is that you are aware of it and you consciously experience “effects” of SP. !But it’s perfectly safe! You just need to become accustomed to it and later it’s easier. I found it as very positive and interesting experience…
It’s more likely that it’s the other way around. You got sick and that sometimes gives you weird dreams and may help gain more awareness during the night, which can result in conscious sleep paralysis. SP can be weird, specially the first time, but as dB_FTS said, there’s nothing to worry about.
