WILD through playing music

So I just had a cool experience while in the semi-awake stage after waking up from napping. I started visualising playing an arpeggio on the piano, and I ‘heard’ (somwhere in between just imagination and actually hearing) the notes ring out. As I was thinking that that was kind of cool I started going through those pre-LD jerks and then my whole body surged with energy and I went into a LD. Unfortunately it was one of those annoying slow-motion ones where you can’t move properly and in trying to move I woke myself up but no matter, once awake I felt full of energy.

Has anyone else tried this method or thought of it before? I was thinking how cool it might be if everyone could just pick their own chord to play on their own instrument and they would just enter an LD. That might be wishful thinking, but even just as a RC it might have some use. Anyway mine was an A minor

Every once in a while I find myself in that state and can can actually hear the music vividly. I create all sorts of fantastic music! Some have more than one voice and instruments, I’m amazed my mind can create them and keep track. I don’t think I’ve ever entered a LD from there though  I guess I just end up falling asleep or waking up.

My guess is that those slow motion dreams in which you wake up when trying to move are dreams that aren’t fully formed yet, so next time you could try to just relax your body, while remaining passively aware of what you see and hear until you feel things more stable and your body under control.

Yeah, I think you’re right but easier said than done! It’s always a hard tightrope to walk. You don’t want to risk losing it but if you grab at it too greedily it disappears.

I actually have a lot of regular (non-LD) dreams where I can’t move my body properly or move very slowly so I don’t think that’s just the problem. It usually happens when I’m dreaming in the morning so my body is probably half-awake so it doesn’t function properly in the dream world (just a theory). I’d be interested to know if this is a common problem? In non-LDs it is actually even more frustrating because you don’t realise the problem and I spend whole dreams frustratedly moving in this manner.

It is easier said than done, true

I’ve had that in ND’s too. I’m usually just increadibly sleepy and fall all over the place and “fall asleep” in the dream, or am just very groggy.
