So I have this issue that is : If I wake up I won’t feel sleepy.
Said this, it’s very hard for me to perform the WBTB technic due the need to wake up for more than 5-10m (others say 30-60m), feel sleepy, and go back to bed.
As I stand up i’ll immediatly will become awaken and one of the keys to perform correctly this technic is to be sleepy! I tried things such as staying up late, day after day and nothing. I set my alarm clock to whenever I go to sleep, I’ll wake up 4 hours later.
Do you guys have any ideas on how to make me sleepy? Or maybe I’m failing something in WTBT?

I would like to point that since every person is different, it’s necessary to “tune” the techniques so they can become more effective.
I have two suggestions that may sound obvious but… Let’s go.
1 - You may not need to get up: It may not be WBTB in the perfect sense, but it can work. You may wish to read about DEILD as well, which is about staying still in order to sleep again instead of getting up.
2 - Try to sleep less during the first sleep phase, that is, instead of sleeping for a few hours, set an alarm clock to wake you up before a full cycle (that’s less than 2 hours). It has worked for me but I don’t do it often.
