Your existence as another's dream

Possible? I guess if this reality is the dream of someone else, the rules of this someone’s dreamworld would apply. That would maybe be what we call physical laws. But then, there are the laws of the other’s other world too, the waking life of this God. If such a waking life exists. They would be different I suppose and would determine if “this” is possible.

If I were to find out that this is true I would be quite happy. Then I know there is a God. I could try to negotiate. I could ask questions. Maybe some answers would come.

Yes I think it is possible. People everywhere seem to be asleep. We need to wake up.

Wouldn’t it just be an endless circle then?

In my dreams character seem so static. Yet in woken life people are so unique and dynamic. If it kept on going like that, wouldn’t people eventually cease to be human but instead mindless zombies, vegetables? But I guess this would only be possible if your dream characters were dull, which might not apply to everyone.

What is a dream?

This makes me think of people that ask what if dreams take us to a parallel universe or what if there is a dream world, and so on. Thing is that at times it certainly seems that thats true.

On the flip side I’ve been in real life situations where I suddenly look around and wonder if I’m dreaming.

Yet, every dream can have different rules that apply, we find our world vibrant and alive, some things are as constant as your heartbeat, others constantly changing. If the sun suddenly rose from the north one day, I’d start to wonder.

Tell me MichelSerea what kind of answer are you hoping for? This is very roundabout…

My friend and I came up with an idea similar to this.

Every universe is a thought, basically.

Like say, every time you think, it’s a new universe. This universe doesn’t exist here, it’s just your thought. But the thought exists as a universe. So, technically, when you think of yourself, say, riding a black dragon, you’re not really riding a black dragon. But a dopleganger of you in a separate universe that you recently created is.

So it creates this family-tree effect–every thought creates a new universe branching off of your current universe, or just expanding on the idea of an already existing one. It can become like a person holding up a mirror to a mirror.

Say, you think of a planet which is inhabited by wolves with the intelligence of humans. You’ve just created a universe, (the planet doesn’t exist yet, though, you’re just writing it’s fate.) Then one of the wolves thinks of a planet that doesn’t have a physical plane. He’s just created a universe. Then someone on the new planet thinks of another universe.

Technically, everyone is a god using this theory.

It sounded much more plausible through word of mouth…
