Your eyes and WILD...

Hey guys, I was reading about WILD on another site. To trick your body into falling asleep, it says you can roll your eyes back in your head and keep them there. Allow your eyes to tick and twitch. Right now, you can roll your eyes back and feel your muscles twitch. I’ve tried this for the last 2 nights and almost instantly I got the vibrations and sinking motion. Why does this work? Does it simulate the motions of REM? Do you guys think it can be bad for your eyes? Thank you

I’m no expert, but I doubt it will be bad for your eyes, since during the REM, your eyes will go walkabout anyway.

looking up with closed eyes increases wakefulness,

Really :eh: ? How do you know. Because when i try it with WILD, it brings about SP symptoms. ie: vibrations, sinking, ect…

this is an odd question to ask, because in it is the answer! in that you yourself also know from experiencing, so

do you mean, specifics wise ?

it is often done in meditation to shift awareness to higher states,
closing the eyes scientifically shifts us to alpha brainwaves and from here we can go into theta/delta sleeping,
it seems to me , unsure scientifically, that it is alpha/theta that is lucid dreaming and out of body experiences of the unconscious while the self is conscious, but REM seems to spike us into beta wakefulness so perhaps not!

when you fall asleep usually you cannot keep your eyes open, and so they close, and because you are not conscious or dreaming, they do not move,
also some folks on youtube did a lot of studying that if you flicker your eyes and up and down in the early morning it can induce SP ,

so we would see if it works for everyone!

Huh, that sounds neat. I’ll try it tonight. It might just work!

Cool. Post your results if you can

sounds cool, i’ll try. are you sure it can’t hurt your eyes?

Well, it might hurt your eyes, but I don’t think it will cause anything more than discomfort from the effort.

I tried this last night, and it didn’t exactly work for me. Do I need to try this immediately after WBTB or do I wait for the normal time? (I stayed up for 30 minutes before going back to sleep with the WBTB, but I’m thinking I should try just getting up, shutting off the clock, and trying it immediately)

I mean, if this works, could this make WILD easier than it’s ever been before? ._.

I never said it worked though. But when i did this, i didn’t use WBTB. I waited enough to clear my head

Still, I’m going to try this after a WBTB too. If this can get you into Sleep Paralysis, than wouldn’t it theoretically help with the WILD technique?

I don’t really have time to await an answer. I shall test this myself tonight… and then report if I had any progress, any at all. :content:

By the way, this is the page where i found it. Good luck

I tried it this morning, it technically didn’t work. I didn’t have a WILD through it, however when I fell asleep I had a normal dream in which I achieved lucidity, I assume because I had been thinking a lot about LDs.
