2012 the end. Part II

there is an old chinese proverb that tells the world what to do to stop the world from ending when he mayan calender ends…

ummmm does anybody remember what it is heh heh i seem to have forgotten. heh heh…

I remember it now…something like “When calendar come to end, take off shoes and look to east; shake tree to make apple fall, and eat.”

December 21st, 2012?

What timezone?

It’d sure suck if I had to waste a couple of thousand to go to Kazakstan or something because the end of the world wasn’t available in New Zealand. And after all that it would probably be like a re-enaction from Star Wars or something. Lame. Not wasting money on that. We need zombies or something.

I think it poignant to paraphrase Douglas Adams here (and that’s because I don’t have the Guide to directly quote…dammit):

‘I have always had this feeling that somewhere in this universe, there is something greater, something…beyond us.’

‘No, everyone gets that. That’s just ordinary paranoia.’

I’m not sure what it is, but I think it should go something like this:

‘Make sure your parachute doesn’t get jammed, because then your world WILL end.’

All joking aside (well, kind of), let’s just for one second imagine that the Mayans were amazingly skilled ith their prophetic predictions. An absurd assumption to make, but an assumption I’ll use for the moment.

Now, we’ve got to realise, as many people have pointed out, that the Mayans never predicted the end of the world. Did they even predict this ‘new era’ to be a bad thing? I don’t know, but I don’t recall anybody with venerable beards telling me that there was going to be a thousand deadly diseases descending from the sun or something. Best case scenario: The Mayans are actually aliens (ah, so THAT’S why they disappeared!) that are going to flutter down from the heavens and give us great gifts of technology that allow us to leap and colonise the vast expanses of space, fulfilling the dream of spreading (read: infecting) as much as possible.

Now let’s assume that the Mayans are a bit rusty on their techniques. In that case…what a waste of time. All this hype for nothing. No zombies at all. Not even a measly warp drive. Stupid media. I blame Fox.

(What this post is supposed to tell you, is that I reject the notion of doomsday because it is utterly unscientific, and precognition is ultimately impossible. However, if there is any proper evidence that suggests the end of the world could be nigh, I’d like to see it because I really like weird stuff. )

As I said before, they never predicted an end to life, a new beginning. The mayans had one of the most accurate calendars of all time, but it never predicted a “doomsday”. It just ended on a common day, the solstice, and people made their own conclusions…
Humans are suckers for apocolypse. Why? maybe we’re just bored with the way things are going…i dunno. Human condition.

I agree, we need some zombies around here! :cookiemon:

Yeah. I think the Mayans would have put a warning on the calender or something if they thought the world would end.

Make sure everyone knows you are right. There is no doomsday. It’s the end of an age. The awakening I have done countless hours of research. Humans are indeed fatuated with THE END. On another note I believe galaxies or planets and stars are aligning in the center of the Milky Way. That’s the big piece I either missed or is missing in this discussion. I however think technology is the inevitable end is us (Ironically I typed this all on my iPod though)

why would you say that technology is the end? I see it as a new start?

I laugh as i read the posts above that they just got bored about recording future dates, I mean sure why not its not as if they could write a program to keep recoring teh future alignments for infinty, it had to stop at some time why not.

Still it will be interesting. there is so much talk about the rest of the crystal skulls being found as well that this is the awakening age, I wonder what I can buy into to make some money off this

I can’t speak to much on 2012. But as far as technology, I feel it subtracts from humans. Okay lemme clarify first not ALL tech. But computers are replacing the need for alot of us.
I still use it. By no means am I Amish. Without trying to sound like a grandmother TV really IS bad for you. There are some educational aspects don’t get me wrong. Just try to find a program not about death or drama. You’ll see what I mean. I’m a little off topic as far as 2012 is concerned. But my ending is a bit more practical. And if anyone did they research they would know the Mayans actually blame the invention of the modern clock. And predicted it would be the ENDing factor. We have seperated ourselves from this planet so much with certain theologiez and gizmo gadgets (such as my iPod). Humans, as “smart” as we are, are seriously flawed for this 1 reason mainly, we always want MORE. As soon as you think you are happy there’s something else. I believe technology plays a big part of our “this is obsolescent” mind frames. Not only that, wanting more plays an even bigger part in why people are even on this forum topic. Live your life! Forget the end!

lol. I’m sorry, I just think this is a bit funny. You think computers subtract from our life? Funny then that if they didn’t exist our life expectancy would be significantly lower. Computers enhance our productivity in the operating theatre by extraordinary amounts.

TV. Without this, companies wouldn’t make a significant portion of their profits. You know, advertising. To fuel the economy. Also, lack of entertainment industry has got to be bad for an economy that is already pretty screwed up (and note, this isn’t due to tech!)

Of course we do. That’s the brilliant aspect of life. Curiosity, the drive for diversity. The thing that drives us to want the latest gadgets also drives us to want to live, in general. The two aren’t mutually exclusive you know.

And one would hope that their life is not a daily repetition. We want to see different places, meet different people, and by extension, we therefore must also want different things.

Humans would not evolve if it weren’t for the want of new things. We’d be stuck as cavemen, because all we would’ve cared about is eating and sleeping. I don’t think so. That is not how an intelligent species acts.

The Mayan calender notation allows for indefinite extension. Lack of will to continue the calender is not the problem at all.

Life xpentancy good point. But don’t trade life length for life quality. Gadgets are great. Just flawed. And as far as wanting more your right. We don’t want to be cavemen. You just need to look to the future and understand wanting more could very well lead to THE END. For the money thing I understand. Just get that people traded without tv for 10000 years. And as far as “the economy” thats an over used and often misunderstood word. We can hear it so much like oh my god what we do is this economy of ours. I hope that the change everybody is hoping for is the movement away from money as the “end all be all”

 • wait a little longer to see it’s effects but yes computers will subtract from human neccessity. They’re making us obsolete. I know we make em but as soon as we do. They perform tasks better than us (smallest example is spell check)

I recall hearing something like that.

Anyway, I’m no expert on the topic but the basic idea of what I would have said was already covered by Entheoman a few posts ago. As far as I know, the idea that the Mayan calendar ends on that particular date is actually erroneous. The winter solstice of 2021 marks the end of a grand cycle, one that is 26,000 years long. Within that, there are many smaller cycles. But this cycle, this is one big deal. You can equate this with a spiritual shift in the planet, and for humanity if you want, but I don’t think the moment itself is going to be huge. Then again, I guess you never know.

Let’s see, I don’t recall where I first read that info, but here’s a link to a site I found. It includes an accurate quote from a 7th century Mayan Prophet.

And so I take it that we’re coming to the point of the brink of this destruction, with our mad technological growth and ignorance to the massive destruction to the planet. The only way to sidestep this is to begin the healing process of the earth, to go back to a way of living that doesn’t clash with the laws of nature. We may make it, we may not. We could just as well plummet to a self-made destruction as begin to heal our past mistakes.

So as far as I see it, the year may mark the beginning of a new era for humankind, kind of like that song, “Age of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine in.” Its just too bad the vast majority of Mayan documents were destroyed by some Spanish jerk.

I also think that the actual energetic shift of the planet will go unnoticed by most people, save for a few sensitive individuals. As far as the whole doomsday stuff goes, I’m not going for it. People try to predict the end of the world all the time but it just keeps grinding on. So I’m waiting for the day. Can’t wait to see if the world starts to become a better place.

Oh, and by the way, the pyramids were built by aliens and about 2/3 of crop circles are authentic.

Its not going to happen, i bet one million billion dollars the world doesnt end. I love foolproof bets.

But either way i am going to have the time of my life mocking every single moron who believed that it would be the time, oh the self esteem ill destroy, reminds me of the end of 2007 and the guy who ran rapture2007 made up things to cover his tracks…and rapture 08 and 09.com were already registered…

I see technology as a good way to expand our knowledge.
The internet, for example, is one of the greatest inventions in history. It enables us to share information at speeds close to that of light. Videos, music, and messages can all be sent over the internet to communicate with people thousands of miles away. Think of a world with no technology at all, it would be much more difficult to communicate with people who are far away.
That doesn’t make it perfect, though. There are still flaws that technology does present, but I think it’s very possible that we can live with technology without hurting nature.

I’d be ignorant to ignore the benefits of tech. Especially the Internet. But does it weigh out the good? People wake up. We now live in a world of identity theft. This is ridiculous. Healthcare has improved dramatically. Just keep in mind NOTHING has been cured. Not Anything between cancer or the cold. And there is a radical theory saying the polio vaccine, the only thing we did cure might have led to the advancement of AIDS. Technology isn’t solving problems. It’s covering them up. Disquising them if you will. So far from 2012 I know. Well maybe not. The awakening spoken off is supposed to occurr over time and complete in 2012.

To shed some light on the subject,

physical changes are occurring as we speak, The earth’s pulse, or frequency is rising.
It is called The Schuman’s resonance and was always measured at 7.84 Hz, nowadays it’s already reaching the 12 +.
The density is decreasing, frequency (energy) increasing.
You can’t see it tomorrow morning but if you take a close look at this time last year, there was a change.
This physical change that the earth is undergoing is supposed to end on 2012 .
And regarding the Mayan calendar, they predicted the end of a cycle. Just like existence didn’t spark at that cycle, there were others before and there will be others after. Just like every religion, cult, or group trying to attain power through fears, a lot of theories have been made up to capture the hearts of innocent people from their fears, since that is such a strong way to do it.

Thanks for the detailed info! I recall reading somewhere that the frequency of the Earth was changing, and I may have vaguely pointed to it in my post, but extra info is always great to find. The unfortunate thing is, many people treat this topic as some great rumour that they can either accept or deny as “the end of the world” without being aware that it may just be “the end of the world we created,” a spiritual awakening, and the beginning of a new planetary cycle and a new era for humankind.

Actually today I had fun shouting about this topic in my Participation in Governent class. It was the first day of this half-year class and we were brainstorming topics that we could choose to talk about. Someone mentioned 2012 and I got to shout something out about the Mayan calendar and how that date is a symbol for the end of a mathematical cycle, and my teacher was like, “Gee, I hope so!” I guess people can be concerned about it since when you don’t know much, and you don’t know what’s gonna happen, anything can go. :scared: Then I shouted something out about Spanish jerks.

Well, I guess I’m gonna go read about Schumann’s resonance.

Here’s some quick info I found on a quick google search
I didn’t read it though
thecamino.com.ar/zeropointand.htm
It says : Thank you Greg Braden, which reminds me,
He has lots of interesting books and videos on youtube you can watch, I think I posted one of them in a topic in the Lucid Lounge called the science of miracles.

Beliefs are traps
They are very easy to enter and very easy to exit , for the ordinary man , that is.

It’s very sad to me that most people never stop to even consider the truth behind their beliefs.

Earth Changes… Pulse Rising?? Good time for me to chime in I guess. Let me prove why someone’s (Earth’s) pulse (time) would increase (speed-up)

On 2 levels TIME IS SPEEDING UP. Because I am not a scientist I wouldn’t be able to tell you such facts about the physical make-up of the universe that would cause this shift. But, time speeding up suggests there is something we are leading up to. Think of a magnet or force pulling times toward it.

Now on the level I can discuss. Anyone ever heard “Time is Money” Of course you have. Now it’s time we dwell on this phrase. When the phrase is used it’s often associate with someone’s “time” being worth someone else “money” So in a world with only a 24 Hour day, how is one supposed to get more money. Easy, by fitting more into the day.

How do you do this? Simple answer: “convenience”

 • Convenience allows a person to do more inside the allotted amount of time. By doing more, more money can be made. Pretty simple right???

With that all understood, one might say time is not speeding up, we are. It used to take 3 months to go from Europe to US, months to write a letter and get
an answer back, and hours to cook something. Now we can go between Europe and US back and forth twice in 1 day. All while talking on a cell-phone and microwaving a lean cuisine at the same time.

It easy to see why stress is the NUMBER 1 killer. Why anxiety levels are so high. Why a great percentage of kids are hyper active on medicine. It’s also easy to see why time is speeding up. Greed!!!

*I will report back after some research to the other more scientific level of a time shift. Something about particle attraction… ya know the smart stuff.

hmm

first of all,

Stress and anxiety aren’t present because of the time. There are many people who are not under stress and anxiety, but they are still (incase they are still physically on earth) effected by time.
EDIT: forgot to say…
Stress and anxiety are present simply because of the programming of our society, education etc on our minds.
We are being programmed to think that we should look a certain way, behave in a certain way, live a in certain house, have a lot of money in the bank, have a certain partner etc… to be ‘worthy’. The installment of this programming results in the risings of fears in people, causing them to be stressful and anxious.

Most people don’t have the slightest clue about what time is.

Going back to Einstein now , the whole concept of relativity is that time is an illusion, there is no clock sitting there ticking away.
Time IS relative
That is, if you’re traveling through space, you’re traveling through time.
Time and space are dependent on each other. There’s no time , neither space, only space-time. Which is practically a matrix.

What’s going to happen when nothing happens? If that’s the case…
