Also, I number my thoughts and tips and name all the techniques and variations I come up with.

Lucid Dreaming Technique:

CDILD - The How-To Guide.

CDILD is derived from a form of meditation (also thought up by me, as far as I know), but when used this way, can induce lucid dreams in one of two ways.

Step one: Preparation.
As with any LDing technique, proper preparation is in order. Make sure to be properly nourished (stomach grumbling can impede progress), but not to be stuffed full (a few hours after dinner should do). Make sure to go to the bathroom beforehand and to have showered or at least washed your face and hands thoroughly. Now we’re ready, on to step two.

Step Two: Position.
Since you’re planning to fall asleep, obviously you’re going to be lying down in a comfortable position. There are three positions that work best ordered from best to worst (in my opinion) below.

  1. Back - Lay on your back with your hands folded comfortably over the crotch, place on the thighs, or out by your sides (fully extended arms, either tucked close or spread away will do), as long as your deep stomach breathing doesn’t move them. Your head should be facing straight up and just slightly elevated, and your legs can be extended straight out, side by side, or crossed over one another.

  2. Side - If you’re going to position yourself on your side, then it should be on your left side (left brain = logical brain, and lucidity requires quite a bit of logical thinking). Anyway, I don’t have too many preplanned positions, so all I’m going to say is try to keep your body symmetrical.

  3. Stomach - On your stomach, again, have the left side of your face down. Aside from that, keep your arms extended (either tucked close or spread away will do), Or overlap them under your head.

Step Three: Relaxation: Slowing the Breathe
To start off you want to do like you would at the beginning of a meditation, by slowing your breath over about five inhale/exhale combinations, deepening the breath over five more, and increasing the pause between the inhales and the exhales over five more. Make the pause as long or short as you like, but remember two things: 1. The longer the better, but 2. You are human so don’t make it, like, ten seconds. YOU NEED TO BREATH STILL. Har har. Anyway, yeah, a pause of three second seems to be a good time. (Don’t worry. Over the course of the rest of the steps, you’ll lose track of your breathing, and that’s OK).

Step Four: Relaxation: ‘Detensifying’ Yourself.
Once you’ve relaxed your breathing, you’ll want to relax your body, which is really very quick and easy. Over the next ten or so breaths (don’t actually count. Ten breaths is just an estimate of how long it would probably take someone new to relaxing this way to complete this step) go through every major part of your body starting with the feet and do the following. You’ll want to inhale, pause, then, with the following exhale and pause, relax both your feet completely, and try to feel them getting heavier and sinking into the bed, completely loose and relaxed. Inhale, pause, then, with the exhale and pause feel your feet getting even more relaxed and sinking into the bed even deeper. Do this as many more times as you need until your feet couldn’t possibly be any more relaxed (two or three times should do) then move onto your claves, and thighs, and hands, and forearms, and upper arms, then shoulders, then lower torso, then upper torso, then neck, and then face and head (focusing particularly on spots that arm tense or have been aching).
Eventually you’ll reach the point I’m at or even further, and be able to completely relax your entire body and slow and deepen the breath and elongate the pause between the breaths, all in one or two breaths.

Step Five: How to ACTUALLY perform CDILD
Actually performing CDILD is the easy part, and, depending on how imaginative you are, it’s a very fun part. This is where the actual Conscious Daydreaming happens. Once you’re in a completely relaxed state, you simply start thinking up your own little story. Don’t think out the setting and things, just try to visualize the story. Visualize every little action, trying to make it like your own little movie. If you’d like an example, just PM me and I’ll type up my DD, otherwise, I honestly don’t want to, .

Step Six: Falling ‘/Awake/’
From here on, the method work just like WILDing in that your furious thinking about your daydream should keep your mind awake through the process of you body falling asleep. (Takes practice. Much practice.)


Step Six: Falling Asleep
Chances are, until your thoughts on your daydream become more focused, you’ll just fall asleep, however, there is one more chance to become lucid it you do happen to fall asleep, and that’s by recognizing some parts of your dream - dream signs. After thinking so deeply on your DD, there is no doubt that there won’t at least be some hint of the DD in your actual dream. That said your entire dream may be your entire daydream, and hopefully you can recognize, since you consciously thought the DD up, and not your subconscious, that this is part of your DD, and that you can control it. This method may only induce Partially Lucid dreams, in that you may not know you’re actually dreaming, or where your body is, but complete conscious control isn’t a bad consolation prize if you don’t fall asleep conscious.

P.S. Very similar to VILD, but with a more complex story line, and no RCs. Actually, you might want to throw a few creative RC things into the story, just for the hell of it.

VILD/WILD variation, I’d say.

Lucid Dreaming Variation:

Object WILDing:

I’m not sure if this is new but it’s a technique I haven’t seen on the site before. Okay. Basically, all you do is lay in bed and think of something, say, the first moderate sized object that pops into mind. Let’s say that object is a person, say, a girl. Once you’ve got that it is a person, you start to ask yourself questions about the person. For example: What is her name, how young or old is she, is she short or tall, black or white or asian etc., is she fat or skinny, is she muscular ETC. Once you’ve asked every possible question you can about the girl’s appearance, all the while keeping a mental image of the girl and all the details you’ve created, put the girl in a setting, slowly build up her surroundings. Say she’s sleeping, so she’s in a bed. How big is the bed, what color are the sheets or the quilt crumpled at the bed’s foot, how many pillows are there, ETC. Then ask questions about the room the bed is in. Is it messy or clean, what color is it, how big is it ETC. (for the interest of time among other things, try to keep the surrounding simplistic). The basic Idea is that your brain keeps occupied while creating the girl and her surroundings, and your body falls asleep. Eventually you build the mental image up it seems to such a great detail that it becomes completely realistic, as if what ever you created were right in front of you IRL. This is precisely the stage wherein you are dreaming and you are lucid; either that, or in a fairly deep meditative state. That’s good to. Anyway, if anyone knows the name for this technique, please tell me…

Chilla Tip #1: While meditating or trying to lucid dream, while reciting a mantra or whatever repetition your method requires, if any, try to involve a physical motion. A subtle physical motion maintained and in sync with your mantra with help keep you focused. Say, you’re counting from one to one hundred over and over as part of your meditation or WILD, I’d silently and subtly mouth each number. Another would be to push the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth once or twice for each number thought. Another expanding on the previous example would to push the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth with varying pressures (Example: one-light press, two-harder press, three, light press, four-harder press…etc.). Another would be to try and visualize the numbers as you think of each (try to make the visualizations bright and vibrant). Or, you could use some combination of two examples, for example, a tongue press with a visualization.

Note: You don’t have to restart at one after reaching one hundred if you don’t want (that is, if you’re counting) that’s just what I do.

Sounds interesting. I’ll try and give object WILDing a shot tonight.

Chilla Tip #2:

Try each technique that appeals to you for two-three weeks in a row. If you don’t feel you have any results, move onto another technique for a while.

Maybe but I’ve heard of many people giving up so I just thought I’d mention that.

You don’t have to experience the vibrations when attempting WILD to actually WILD.

I used to get the vibration alot and they would be super strong. All of a sudden one day I just stopped getting them. I thought “Oh No! I’ll never be able to WILD now!”, but only 2 months later I WILD’ed without even getting them.
They aren’t neccessary, but they are fun! :smile:

Neat. I wonder why they would stop. Then again, I wonder why you get them in the first place.

Chilla Tip #3:

When it comes to telekinesis, if you are a beginner, you might want to focus on just one small portion of you object, say a tiny corner, so as to drag the object rather than manipulate the entire object.

Chilla’s thought #1:

Okay, I believe telekinesis is possible, I mean, I’ve done it once before myself. But in order to make a really convincing movie showing someone using telekinesis, you’d have to follow these criteria:

  1. The object, must be wood or paper or something definately not magnetic.
  2. The table on which the telekinesis is done must be a glass one so people can see the legs and on the person and everything else going on underneath the table. Also, the table should be a very small one so the whole thing can be seen, including both legs.
  3. While the telekinesis is being done, say, halfway through the movie, someone must cover the object being moved (half way through so any preassembled rigs would be out of the question.
  4. Both hands must remain see along with all finger throughout the entire movie.
  5. the finger must always be atleast three inches away from the object.
  6. The object must perform multiple manuvers (I.E. move frontwards and back, side to side, spin, ETC.)
  7. Lastly, the clip must be recorded with a high quality camera, Web Cam…

Like I said, I know telekinesis is real, but for skeptical people, the above should be followed before making a movie. I think I’ve pretty much covered everything.

Could you give us some tips for learning telekinesis? It sounds interesting.

One cup of soda before bed, if attempting WILD directly when going to sleep, will help keep mental alertness but won’t keep your body awake.

The soda has helped me alot. Lets me clear my mind without worrying about falling asleep. That way my body falls asleep faster. Oh and thanks for the link Chilla.

What has making a video clip of Telekinesis IRL to do with telekinesis in an LD?

I never said it was dream telekinesis…

Lucid Dream Variation:

PWILDing (Passage or Poem WILDing)

I’ve had some problems with meditating and WILD attempts lately, and it’s always been because the counting was too easy for my head, I.E. I didn’t have to think or concentrate hard enough to carry it out, so I would eventually e thinking about the random pre sleep thoughts while still counting. The counting is still there, be it’s too overshadowed by the thoughts to be of any use. So, I thought, why not recite something in your head that could serve as a mantra, but was much longer than the single numbers. Something like a poem, or a passage.

/EDIT/ I made this a technique variation because I tried it a few nights ago and I stayed focused much longer than usual.
