Do you think spirit guides are dead people?

I should point out, that while I believe that SG’s are people who have passed over, I don’t believe that the “SG’s” you meet in dreams are the same thing.

When I am talking about my SG I’m never refering to a dream meeting, as far as I know I have never met my SG in a dream.

I believe that the SG’s that manifest in dreams are more often than not, a part of your subconscious and nothing more. Don’t get me wrong I am not saying that they always are just parts of your subconscious either.

I agree with this. My opinion also lies with what people can prefer that the spirit manifest itself into. Most likely someone they are comfortable with. It’s easier to relate to and accept that way.

btw, what does kardecism mean? I can’t find it in the dictionary.

This is a big possibility. I remember having a brief discussion with DM about this same topic.

I want to say I ALMOST agree with this. I honestly don’t believe that a person could be someone else’s SG when they too are of flesh and blood, not to mention still breathing. As entertaining as the thought might be, it just isn’t feasible. I could see a bond of some type but not a SG.

If they (SG) are people that have passed over than it would be my impression that they have achieved a greater height of light or energy and they have long since been or related to their human form. It couldn’t possibly be just anyone that passed away b/c for the most part they are lost and haven’t found their own way.

I haven’t met anyone in particular that I can say is a regular DC that have given me some tips. I can say that I’ve heard a man’s voice, the same voice, on a number of occasions. I can never see him but his words make a lot of sense. Some things I’ve listened to and some things I haven’t.

The key to this is that I don’t get the impression he was a dead person either.

I think i will try and ask my SG about this… maybe see if he is someone i knew who died, someone i know who is still alive, or if i never knew him at all but in an earlier or later life… this could be very entertaining…

It’s Allan Kardec’s theory. In 1857, he wrote “the Book of Spirits”, which had a big influence on occultism and his writings led to the movement which was later called spiritism.
