I have a question… how can you move from the knowing it’s a dream, and then having a normal dream where you are aware, to the dreams where you are extremely aware of your senses and everything around you? Does that even make sense?

Personally I would try to set my first intention, upon realising it was a dream, to be to increase my lucidity. By reaffirming that it is a dream and increasing my lucidity. You could do that by shouting “Increase Lucidty Now!” or by looking at the surroundings and thinking about how they are all just part of your dream.
