I cant control my LD's for shit.

a few nights ago i had an extremely vivid lucid dream, it lasted quite a long time. the problem??? I COULDNT DO A SINGLE DAMN THING. everything i tried did nothing.

i touched mirrors, monitors, tried to fly, i couldnt even break a window. i tried to leave my house but it was locked… i tried to fly through a window like i usually do, but i just fell to the floor.

i seriously, SERIOUSLY cannot control my dreams. i know this because i try sooo hard to believe that what i want is there, around the corner, or behind me. but when i go around that corner, or look behind myself, there is nevery anything there. and no, im not trying too hard, ive tried at every single level of trying.

ive never even come close to coming close to controling anything, and thats just simple stuff. i dont think ill EVER be able to just make something appear around some corner or something. ive tried to do and make many things you people have suggested, but i cant even begin because nothing can ever happen.

HELP!!!

AND YES, i am positive enough, its only now after so many months that i see there is no improvement.

i have one questions actually that ive been thinking about. when im in a LD, and just standing there, and i want oh for example a time machine to appear. could i possibly kinda imagine and make a picture in my mind of a time machine around the corner in front of me? or will that kinda mess up my ld cuz im mixing images in my head, and a dream? because right now, as i type, i can imagine myself walking, then looking around a corner and seeing a time machine. if i did that in a LD, could i then make it actually appear? do any of you try this?

Yeah, that time machine thing would work.

I can see your problem from you last post (it’s the same problem I have). Quite simply, you seem to be wondering if what you’re doing will work and whether or not it’s how you make X happen.

Don’t, remember that whatever you want to do, it can be achieved through any means you try. There is no wrong way to fly/to make something appear/whatever. So don’t try and do something - cos if you only try, you may well fail. Just do it and don’t think about how you’re going to do it.

Yeah, probably for shit you indeed cannot control your dreams.

And there is recent topic talking about the same thing. I wanted to point it out, because to discuss the same thing in different threads is time-consuing:

[Disobeying LDs)

im not sure you were actually lucid, or you just dont believe you can. the entire act of becomeing lucid is believing, you MUST believe taht its real, and that you are able to manipulate this reality.

Noooo…, the whole point of becoming lucid is realise it’s NOT real…

That’s the funny thing about LDs… the point of lucidity is to realize that your surroundings are only within your mind, but in order to get anything done you sometimes have to pretend that it is real. Actually, real might not be the right word. I guess it’s more of understanding that in lucid dreams anything can be real.

I am afraid that it is because you want it so badly, and that because of the lack of result you think you can’t do it.

Well take that and chuck it out of the window. Because you can, it will just take practice and patients.

Oh, my! I have the same problem.

My lucid dreams that I’ve had so far (2, counting the one last night) have been great fun, just because I’ve been able to do what I wanted within dreamline. Last night, I tried to make a DC appear inside my Corvette (she was standing in front of it; I actually argued with her, in an attempt to REASON!), but I only made the car shift forward, and run into her.

My next dreamscene, I was by a rack of guns, and I got to play around with that, so I didn’t want to change it. I haven’t been able to get to the point where I realize that I can change my dream any way I want, though.

The first thing you have to figure out is were you lucid?

How many lucid dreams have you had so far?

If you have only had a few then I am sure this problem will correct it’s self in time. It is just a matter of practice and changing the way you think in your dreams. All of which will improve with experience.

Right now your frustration will just make things worse. I suggest you try to achieve some small objectives to build confidence and understand how dreams work. Try to change little things. Just go with the flow of the dream then, gently nudge the dream into the direction you want it to go. Then next time try something more complicated, build your way up from there.

I have no doubt that in time you will be flying, summoning and creating vast dreamscapes for your self.

i have had PLENTY of lucid dreams… just last night i had like 4. but i just cant control them. im going to have to experiment to make new ways to make things appear or happen.

oh and something funny is that when i was trying to go through my monitor, but failing, i went on the computer and searched for what i wanted…the first time i typed it up and it worked, but when i searched it went blank. but the second time the letters came up in *** letters instead of regular letters!! my brain was too lazy…

anyways, it WAS and i AM having LDs, they arent very hard once you get the hang of wilds… but it just sucks so much ass when you never do much in them… like the other day i had a ld where i flew down the street, went into a house, went up the stairs, but then stopped because i had a spasm in my calf, and i was sitting there for FIFTEEN MINUTES massaging it because the pain was real… 15… in a LD! well that was fun…

this doesnt mean that i dont like lds though… i try to have the m as much as possible because i usually end up having to look for what i want instead of making it appear. (which works for me, until i get something like a spasm!)

more tips on how to control are GREATLY appreciated.

 wow, are you a doctor?

Anyhoo…

So you are having LDs without control? Sometimes I begin to lose control closer to waking up. I would say if that’s not the case you should try something you CAN control. To build confidence. I have confidence you WILL find a solution to this problem, and so should you.

How is your life right now? Do you feel in control there? If you don’t it could be carrying into your state of mind in the unconcious.

You could also try meditation. That can relax the mind before bed and release some of your worries.

Best thing to do is realax and enjoy the experiance. If you can not fly, then simply touch, taste, and smell things. You can control your dream body touching some dream fabric, so you will start to think: Hey I CAN control myself, and keep building up from there. Maybe you can talk to dream characters or try to interpret your dream?

Just some ideas,

haha… :content:

Ok, if you are definitely having lucid dreams, I would suggest that you follow the advice I gave above. Start small and build from there. When you want to change things, really expect your dreams to comply. Demand it from your dream. After all, it is your world and what you say goes!

Have you tried any of the methods to increase lucidity or prolong your dreams? Sometimes, if you use these methods the moment you realize you are dreaming it can help with control as well.
