Old Hag - Sleeping Positions

My mom had an old hag while on her back. She said she saw a ghost type guy yaking his shoes off at the foot of her bed. :bored:

Please explain me what is an old hag. I just dont get any of this O_o

It’s an hallucination that some people experience during a sleep trouble called “sleep paralysis”.
Very good info about SP and associated hallucinations there:
https://watarts.uwaterloo.ca/~acheyne/S_P.html

Ummm… I don’t think the results of this poll will be very usefull unless you understand how many people sleep in what position.

Let me explain-
Lets say for every 100 people that sleeps on their back, only 2 sleep on their right side. That would make the informaion unuseable unless you factored this in. You know?

I know. They also forgot the option “I never experience Old Hag”…

Trung of Wu, your comment is pertinent. About sleep positions, they are almost equally distributed among sleepers, as you can see on this experiment report:
https://watarts.uwaterloo.ca/~acheyne/prevent.html
It’s quite the same experiment than we did, but with far more sleepers (about 6500), and the results are the same too. Results : Old Hag is more likely to happen in a supine sleep position.

Xetrov, this poll was about sleep positions related with Old Hag. Trying to know how many percent of the sleepers have Old Hag could be the subject of another poll. Btw, all these questions are already answered on the University of Waterloo site (sleeping position, average age of sleep paralyzed people, frequency of associated hallucinations, etc.)

It only happens if I sleep on my back or right side. This morning I woke up with sleep paralysis, as soon as I opened my eyes I saw something(someone) jump off my pillow and to my side. I tried to form words…I tried asking for a name and I got Brian. Very weird. I also tried to roll out, it works most of the time, but I wasn’t able to. I avoid sleeping on my back or side, becuase I hate to wake up with s.p in the middle of the night when it’s pitch back.

Its happened to me twice… both on my back

one nothing came into my view tho… and the second one was someone i know taking pictures of me in my bed… then i got up and shoved him to the ground and demanded to know why he was taking pictures of me and I noticed he had a class ring on (but he doesn’t wear one) it had a red stone in it

then I woke up confused… well both times I woke up confused

I get in every position but supine - except a very few exceptions when i get far more painful experiences than normal.(i usually get pain in my lower back in SP)

I tried asking for a name and I got Brian. Very weird.

Brian’s the old hag? I knew it was him all along!
