“The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia, a word that is derived from the concatenation of the Greek words Παρασκευή, δεκατρείς, and φοβία, meaning Friday, thirteen, and phobia respectively; alternative spellings include paskevodekatriaphobia or paraskevidekatriaphobia, and is a specialized form of triskaidekaphobia, a phobia (fear) of the number thirteen. Friday the 13th is also called ‘black Friday’ in many countries.”

Why 13? there’s nothing wrong with it. Nothing bad ever happens on the 13th.
( the 1st passage can be found on Wikipedia)
I agree that 13 is very important in dreamspell.

I’m not afraid of the number 13 at all. In fact, I am 13 years old, born on June 13th, and my next birthday is going to be on Friday the 13th. I’ve had my birthday on Friday the 13th once before when I was younger, and nothing bad ever happened. And the number 13 is important in dreamspells and wavespells and such, so I don’t see a reason to hate that number.

I think that the #13 is a stereotype

That doesn’t make any sense kT

Heres the origin of this “fear”
Into the Middle Ages, the stigma against Friday the 13th grew stronger. On Friday, October 13, 1307, King Phillip !V of France ordered the arrest of the Grand Master of the Knights Templar and his senior knights and other members. They were tortured to compel them to admit to “wrongdoings.”

And they were executed. Sympathizers of the Templars condemned Friday the 13th as an evil day.

There is a “”"“Christian”""" explination for that too…
There were Disciples + Christ makes 13 judas is supposed to be number 13 of the church builders and Jesus was ordered killed on a Friday …

How interesting - hadn’t heard that before. Thanks for sharing.

I was also born on a 13th of the month (August 13th) so I don’t percieve it to be unlucky, I actually percieve it to be lucky. I do not have triskaidekaphobia. Did you know the number 13 appears 9 times on the dollar bill (some claim has to do with Masons but probably there for the same reason as the 13 stripes on the flag (13 original colonies)?

  1. 13 steps on unfinished pyramid
  2. “Annuit Coeptis” on reverse of Great Seal (above pyramid) 13 letters long
  3. “E Pluribus Unum” is 13 letters long
  4. 13 arrows in right talon of eagle
  5. 13 leaves on olive branch in right talon of eagle
  6. 13 olives on olive branch
  7. 13 stripes on the shield thing in front of the eagle
  8. 13 bars (requires magnifying glass) on shield
  9. 13 stars above eagle’s head.

When there’s 12, there’s always a 13th. Here’s food for thought. Suppose that, with the inclusion of the 13th sign of the Real Zodiac–Ophiuchus–we construct a chart with Sagittarius as the first, Capricorn as the second, Aquarius as the third, etc. Each sign has attributed to it various mnemonic labels that has details of its own if researched.

The first entry in my personal chart is, from left to write:

  1. Magnetic, Sagittarius, The Centaur, “I see,” fire, mutable, universal, summer, Xiuhtecuhtli, god of fire and time, sowing, initiates, before the sin, feminine.

The seventh reads:
7. Resonant, Gemini, The Twins, “I think,” air, mutable, personal, autumn, Cinteotl, god of maize and sustenance, proliferation, reveals, great in mercy, feminine.

The twelfth reads:
12. Crystal, Scorpio, “I desire,” water, fixed, social, winter, Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli, god before dawn, fine tuning of new protoform, creates understanding, sin, masculine.

The thirteenth reads:
13. Cosmic, Ophiuchus, The Serpent Bearer, “I heal,” fire & water, mutable & fixed, universal & social, summer & winter, Ometeotl & Omecinatl, dual-creator god, fruition, completes, cleanse, feminine & masculine.

So on and so forth. I have created heaps of incomplete and out of order charts, with every occurance of 12/13 as “divine” that I come into contact with, i.e. 12 in Book of Revelation (there are surely unspoken thirteenths), the 12 apostles + christ (excluding Judas and including John the Baptist as the first). Many, many others. If you find out what the holy 13 in everything that exists, you can begin to get a more complete picture of the Sacred Count of Days. Today, for example, in the Trad count, is 2-Ix, where the tone has attributes of: Capricorn, the sea-goat, element is earth. In the Aztec pantheon the lords of the second heaven is Tlaltecutli, god of earth, which is often described as a sea crocodile on whose back we dwell. All the entries in my chart interact in this way. Absolute Synchrony.

Heh heh heh… I was born on Friday the 13th (Good Friday, btw). I’ve always liked to think of Friday the 13th as my own lucky day. Sometimes I’ll walk under a ladder or spill some salt for some bad luck, which for me is good luck. It’s more of a fun little joke; I don’t take it seriously. Hopefully though, one day, I’ll run into someone who actually takes luck very seriously & they will provide me with lots of amusement.
