Wait, this seems to indicate that WILD produces better LD’s!
Now I intended to try WILD/WBTB tonight (first serious LD attempt)
WILD just seemed to be the easiest sounding method. Now if this is true, this would be good motivation (plus placebo). Is it true? And to what extent?
Thanks
[EDIT: “this” refers to WILD producing better results.]
I kinda meant, do WILD’s last longer, and have more Lucidity than MILDs, or not? (especially the lasting longer bit)
But that answer was helpful nontheless, ill think ill try WILD first then, partly because of the “backup plan” thingy you just mentioned, and partly becausei feel like it fits in with my own personal strengths/weaknesses.
Yes Vivid LDs are more frequent with WILD simply because you’re entering the dream more aware. Though you can do the same with MILD just by telling yourself that you want to be more aware.
Yes once in the ld you get say/do things to increase the lucidity. I suggest you try WILD if it works fine if not move onto another tehcnique. Its best if you find the technique that suits you. But try each tech more then once to see if it works for you.
MILD/DILD/Whatever can be just as vivid/long as a WILD, the only hard part is remembering to increase your lucidity. If you can do that though, you’ll be fine.
No one technique is better than another. All can give you very high lucid dreams. I have had very vivid DILD and MILD that equaled my WILD ‘s. The only argument I give any credence to (in theory) is that WILD may give you longer lucid dreams because you start a dream lucid. Where as with MILD and other DILD you may not realize you are dreaming until you are already in the middle or the end of the dream.
I think it depends on the person. For me WILD is not harder than DILD, nor it is better. I can have WILD every time I want to (if I have enough time, which happens very seldom ), and I like that I don’t have to rely on luck or my subconscious expectations to have an LD. But I didn’t notice better quality of WILDs. The awareness was higher, and I remembered better, what I was going to do, but they were usually less interesting than DILDs. In a DILD you become aware in an already formed dream world and can explore it freely, while in a WILD you have to wait until everything settles. If I am not patient enough to wait for everything to clear up, I have a dim and somehow empty dream. DILDs are less predictable, and sometimes it is just what I want…
