A couple of questions about DEILD!

Alright, after finding an app on my iPod that has an auto-stop alarm, which allows me to wake up and not have to move to stop the alarm, I finally decided to try DEILD last night. I thought it would be a promising technique, considering its a WILD, with the first few steps finished for you! I’ve actually done this myself after a couple of lucids to chain other lucids together, but without knowing it was really a technique. So last night, I set the alarm to go off 6 hours after I fell asleep. Before falling asleep I told myself, “When I hear that alarm, I WILL NOT move”. Then, I went to bed. Later, I was dreaming of being in a hotel room in Atlantic City, when, in the dream, I heard the alarm. I woke up and remembered to not move. I made the fatal mistake of opening my eyes for a mere second. However, I DID feel the effects of sleep paralysis, and felt my mind struggling to get back in the dream. After about 30 seconds, I felt the sleep paralysis deteriorate. Now the questions: is it still possible to pull off a DEILD when you open your eyes? And about how long does it normally take to reenter the dream when you don’t open your eyes? Regardless of the fact that I didn’t succeed, I was awfully surprised that I did make a lot of progress, and realized a mistake which I could avoid, and actually pull this off!

Last night I got lucid. And when the dream ended and I found myself in my bed I figured Id try chaining but I to opened my eyes for a split second. I immidiatly closed them and got intense hh but never got back into a dream

Yeah, I think i would’ve had it, had I not opened my eyes for that split second. It’s almos like a reflex to open them when you wake up haha. But this time, before I toto sleep, Im gonna use auto suggestion to tell myself to keep my eyes shut, along with not moving

I didn’t know there was an auto-stop alarm clock app. Could you tell me what it was called?

Last night I had a DEILD it was so weird!
I was having a dream and I realized that I was dreaming + performed a reality check to stable to world out, then after a few seconds the world started to fade away slowly so I started to spin around about 2-3 times and it really helped!
Then I imagined something to appear on the floor but it did not happen, so then I thought it’s a long shot but I have to try it, I closed my eyes and tried to imagine it there and of course I woke up because I closed my eyes (I kinda new I might wake up since I closed my eyes) and I didn’t move at all + very barely opened my eyes then almost instantly I felt SP kicking in and after 5 seconds I went back to sleep. I didn’t realize I was in the dream though but when I woke up I could remember my dream easily.
Thought it would give you some motivation

It should be easier if you don’t open your eyes, but I don’t believe it would completely destroy your chances. I’ve DEILD’ed by waking up, rolling over and BAM DEILD . I believe the general relaxed state of your mind is also important, so if you were to wake up and stay completely still but in your mind you wake up a lot due to the alarm, or you are too excited or nervous, that might make things a bit harder too. Just try to relax and have a good time! Keep trying and I’m sure you’ll get it.

Thanks guys, I’m gonna give this another shot tonight, and I’ll be sure to keep the advice in mind. And MrMindBlow, the app is called Alarmed for the iPhone, and you have to set up a reminder, not an alarm. It lasts about 10-15 seconds, and is really effective. Good luck with your DEILD!
