A few questions about Lucid dreaming

First question- Does listening to music before falling asleep and during sleep help? I listen to a lot of industrial, trance and stuff like that but to help me fall asleep sometimes I’ll listen to IDM, Ambient, or just soft music. (Boards of Canada, Ulrich Schnauss, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Autechre, Retic, Clapan, U-ziq, etc. They’re all great for “traveling to other worlds”) But just wondering if it’ll help at all with lucid dreaming- or at least dreaming in general that I’ll remember because I rarely remember my dreams unless they’re super weird, or sex related. Also, will the type of music effect the dream? Like, if it’s soft will the dream be a lot less… chaotic maybe?

Second question- If you realize you are in a dream, can you turn it into a sexual dream? Not necessarily trying to be a pervert, but just wondering.

Third question- Also if you realize you’re in a dream and are lucid, can you make somebody appear? Like not even just real people, but TV characters and things like that.

Yea just a few questions. I’ve so far never had a lucid dream, but find it very interesting and would LOVE to have one. If these questions have been asked and or answered, I’m sorry, I’m too lazy to look

I’ll just answer the second two questions.

yes  but if you are new to lucid dreaming if you turn it into a sex dream it could drastically shorten the LD due to excitement.

yes again. I think there is a topic about summoning people in the lucid adventures forum. :content:

I think the music might help, not sure really, haven’t tried it. I think it might keep your mind awake, so to WILD it might be good. hmm, I should try this.

The other two questions. Well, I think anything is possible in a lucid dream. I mean, anything you can imagine (and more  ) … Although it might take some time and practice to get there. I beleive it’s worth it (not there myself… )

And don’t worry, if you really want to have a LD, you’ll have one eventually. Just keep reading about it and practising.

The music is probably a mixed thing, it can help you get to sleep. So it can definitely do good in that respect. I know that people have found T.Vs and other speaking can affect their dreams. Personally I found, I had a dream involving something I could hear on T.V. So I assume that music could have similar effects.

Thanks. Another few questions, how come my dreams are sometimes blurry or somewhat dark (still visible, just never really like it’d look in real life.) And infact, could a dream be as vivid as real life? Also, like I said I don’t usually remember dreams too much, but when I do it seems I can never tell if I’m dreaming in 3rd person or from my perspective. I assume it’s mine, but sometimes I think I remember seeing myself (it still wasn’t a lucid dream though, chances are I would have remembered it) and again speaking of remembering, can a person have a lucid dream and not remember it? AND finally, does a person in lucid state move or talk at all, as they are doing in the dream?

Again, sorry if these have been answered. Thanks for the help, much appreciated, hopefully I’ll get and LD tonight and or in science tomorrow lol.

Yep, lucid dreams can be as vivid as real life. I’ve read some people say they can even be more! :bored: I’ve had some really vivid dreams, but I felt my field of view was smaller… it was only crystal clear at the center of my view.

I think it’s possible to froget you had a LD. The chances of you remembering a LD are much greater than a normal dream, since you were conscious, but I think it’s possible…

EDIT: forgot the last question. When we dream our body is paralyzed. Only our eyes aren’t (actually I think some parts of our face aren’t either, like our mouth…) So that’s why our eyes move around when we are dreaming (REM). Our legs don’t move when we run in a dream, for example, or we’d just wake up with the movement.

It’s an LD, so it will stick in your head because you would want to remember it! (Did I say that right?)

Anyway, the worst visual appeal for a dream award goes to my FLD which I forgot to record in my DJ (which I haven’t uploaded in ages), because everything (before and after it became FLD) was black with a white outline. Cartoon?

What do you mean, Cartoon? Like, how I asked if TV characters and what not could be in lucid dreams? Yea, I guess I was also asking about cartoon characters.

He was talking about his experiences.

In your dreams, it is created by your brain, you are constantly in control. You are the only constant in the dreams, you can do whatever the hell you like, go wherever the hell you like, and summon whoever the hell you like. ;D

Wants to get a Lucid Dream

Exactly, there are no rules  Cartoon or real, color or black and white, people made from tinfoil and cars driving people.

I once was inside a tv game in one of my lucid dreams  Your imagination sets the limits… But only if you’re really narrow-minded.
