Ello! As you can probably tell, I’m fresh out of the newbie oven! I’m so pumped to try lucid dreaming…I’ve had one before when I was about 10 (I was dreaming that I was in pitch blackness being chased by clowns and jack-in-the-boxes and I knew it was a nightmare but I was still scared and yelling for my mom to wake me up…)
Anyway, I have a few questions:
I have recently noticed that all of my dreams are based off of or incorporate something that I thought about or did earlier that day but I was not thinking of as I went to sleep… Could that knowledge in any way help me to achieve lucidness?
Earlier today, I was so excited to start LDing that I laid down and tried a very minor attempt at MILD/WILD and my body started tingling and every time I concentrated hard on something like feeling the bark on a tree or flying some of my muscles twitched…Do you think that I made some progress into an LD? (even just a teeny bit maybe?
Anywho, those are my questions!! Oh, and I already started my DJ and bought a Dream Dictionary and book on LDs!
im pretty new to it also but when i was younger i had lucid dreams all the time what u think and read about during the day does effect what u dream of when ur muscels twitch its a sighn ur close when u hear noises remain calm if u have any other questions feel free to pm me
OO thanks! And last night i tried it again and I saw black and white swirls and I sorta felt like i was floating! ^-^
I just got back from NYCand I’m proud to say that I still managed to remember one dream every night (it was super hard though cause I had to sleep on a bus one night, a hotel room another, then a train the next…we only stayed for one night lol)
It might be helpful if you find something you do regularly during the day Especially if it appears in your dreams regularly, you could train yourself to do an RC when you see these things in real life.
It’s difficult to say if you have made progress, It could possibly just be your excitement causing the tingling, but since the process of falling asleep seems to feel a little different for each person. I can’t say you haven’t (By trying to get lucid and reading about lucid dreaming you have made progress into getting lucid )
thanks for the encouragement! i do RCs 10+ times a day so maybe ill do one in a dream soon…
but i did get sooooooo close to attaining lucidity the other night!!! I was WILDing before bed and I think I fell asleep and dreamed for like 5 seconds, then sorta woke out of that and automatically continued WILDing, then I heard the sound of 2 pieces of paper rubbing together (although for some reason my mind thinks of it as the sound of cutting paper ). When I concentrated on the sound, is became faster then I remembered not to concentrate too much but I eased up too much and the sound went away…then i felt a very realistic pressure on my upper body like someone put a really heavy pillow on top of me…I tried to stay interested/passive, but then that went away too! I did a few RCs but nope, i was awake…
It sounds like you had some HI and some sensations that are associated with the onset of Sleep Paralysis, congratulations. That does sound like you are heading in the right direction.
yay im so excited to try again tonite!! i also took a nap after the last reply and hear another sound while WILDing! All i remember of the sound was that it was a loud tap and makes me think of pencils lol
