A Question

A while back (nearly 3 years ago by now, heh. Time goes by.), I used to be very into dreams and lucidity. I had my first lucid dream, yet, I think my subconscious kept trying to pull me out of it.

Not only were there people walking around with signs that blatantly read (well, from what I can remember) something like, “Return to your dream at once.” I am sure it was more threatening that that, but you catch my drift. Finally, after seeing a devil with one of these signs, I gave in.

And was promptly treated with about 5 false awakenings.

So, I dropped out of interest in lucidity for three years, and now I’m back, wanting to know how exactly I can avoid my subconscious from returning me to my dream, or how to combat it.

Thanks.

Well, I’m not an experienced lucid dreamer yet, but here are my 2 cents.

Did you, prior to getting these people-holding-signs-dreams, believe that lucid dreaming might harm your body or mind? Maybe it was just your subconscious sort of acting out that fear.
But then, in your next lucid dream, you could just ask a DC to tell you why your subconscious wanted you to return to your dream.
