A technique that worked! Good Music! Metropolis Pt2!

Last night, I had my first successful WILD. This is a big thing for me, because I have never been able to do WILD any good. But last night, I put on my nice comfy headphones, layed back, and went right into a lucid dream. First I felt vibrations for the first time, and was also able to manipulate my visuals. My dream had such wild things like flying spotted seals and whatnot. What was it that I was listening to, you ask?

Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt.2: Scenes from a Memory (album)
These guys are the most talented musicans I know, and their vocalist has such a smooth soothing voice, but at the same time, doesn’t sound like a wuss. Their genre is progressive metal. I can’t not state how much @ss these guys kick.

Anyway, this album I had on was pretty much one whole 77 minute long song. It got my body numb pretty quick, cause the first lines are a hypnotherapist saying “Close your eyes, and begin to relax”, and does the whole counting backwards from 10 to 1. Then some heavy, yet incredibly relaxing music comes on. During my whole dream, I could hear the music, which made the experience kick ass more than anything in my life.

If you are gifted enough to have this album, please try this to see if it has an effect for you. If you don’t have this album, I highly recommend you get it; you will not be disappointed. DREAM THEATER!!!

Edit: Wow I just noticed this irony: Dream Theater really was a dream theater last night! What an appropreit name.

where can i get this it sounds cool, and a lot cheaper than the novadreamer! hehe

Ha, yeah, it is.

Well, Dream Theater is not a very big name, so if you try downloading it, I can bet you won’t get the whole album, and you need the whole album, cause it all has a plot. You should be able to buy it for not too much at a record store.

The funny thing is, after my dream was over, and the last lines of the album were said: “Open your eyes, Nicolas…” (The name of the main character), I awoke, and tried out my Brainwave generator. It didn’t work half as good as Scenes From a Memory.

okay thanks

Thats Funny!

Hi folks,

This seems an interesting thread, i did search for the album
and i managed to find it selling here:

cduniverse.com/productinfo.a … m=lk_itchy

I found that you can preview 30 seconds of each of the 12 tracks, but the strange thing is there is no mention of Metropolis Pt.2,

It just says Dream Theater : Scenes From A Memory

Then lists the twelve songs from that album.

So where is Metropolis Pt.2?

Also i found that you can download it for free on an music file sharing program called ‘Blubster 2.0’. I think they have every song, but when i do a search for just dream theater within the program, it lists loads of songs by them.

I have to say that it is not really my kind of music, i thought it would be like ambient music with no singing, but this is more of like a band, than some chilled beats. I may still listen to it and see if i become lucid,
I can see how you got lucid as maybe while you were listening to the album you read the back of the cd case where the track names are displayed and maybe by reading those, then later your subconcious mind brought them to the surface and made you have a lucid dream, but also by listening to some different genres of music that you don’t listen to normally can also make you lucid. Like how it has been said elsewhere in this forum your mind becomes more aware in a dream when you done something during the day that you don’t normally do.

The reason i believe that reading those track names may of made you lucid dream is because the 12 tracks names are to do with emotion, and its like he has had some kind of breakdown and has picked up the pieces and realised something in life and then has done something about it, and those thoughts then mix in with others things that you have done, say if you have watched the matrix then neo goes through something similar and realises that he is the One, so the subconcious mind might of brought all this to the surface and made you lucid dream. It’s just a thought, i would like to know what do you think?

but i find listening to online digital radio stations far more relaxing and also inducing, like ambient, chillout and psy trance which you can find by going to www.shoutcast.com and using winamp software to listen to them.

It would still be nice if you can tell me where i can find Metropolis Pt.2?

I found Metropolis Pt.1 on Blubster.

Thanx

I’ve never read the cd case. I borrowed the cd off a friend.
The reason these guys sound like a band, is because they are a band. I said that they were progressive metal. I dont know how one can confuse “chilled beats” with metal.
As for not finding any reference to Metropolis Pt2, it states it on the cd label, because “Metropolis Pt2: Scenes From A Memory” is the title of the album. Metropolis Pt1 was a song, Pt2 is a full album, but the whole album itself is a single song, devided into scenes. So, if you D/L all those 12 tracks, then you will have Metropolis Pt2. Also, if you have heard Metropolis Pt1, one would easily recognise similar riffs and lyrics that are found in both songs.
I think the reason I started to LD while listening to this is because I heard the music in my dream, and I could clearly hear lyrics I have not yet memorized. This caused me to remember that I was sleeping.
I realize that this isn’t traditional dream music, but heavy bass and guitar riffs and solos are extremly relaxing for me. This might not be your kinda bag.

Edit: I just listened to those 30sec samples, and god are they bad quality. It doesnt capture the clean pure sound of Portnoy’s drums or LaBrie’s voice

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll try this out. And you know what’s extra funny? My name is Nicholas.
