Agressive Dream Characters

Hello.
In the three lucid dreaming experience i had, DC always came and attacked me. They never actually win, but whenever i fight them i wake up or just go back to dreaming.
Can it be because it didn’t got complete lucidity? And why are my DC always trying to beat me up for no apparent reason?

Thank you.

it might well be to do with your subconscious - trying to stay in its safe zone, while you are trying to open your mind… or maybe its trying to test your resolve? im having resolve issues, but the longest LD so far was three seconds lol no time for anything to attack me…
perseverance is probly the best thing… practice makes perfect… eventually…

good luck

I sure am going to continue. Why would my subconscious try to prevent me from entering? That’s the first thing i am asking when i do enter.

But it’s weird. Does my subconscious has something to hide. If subconsciously i am afraid of lucid dreaming. it would explain the attacking. So how am i supposed to have a complete lucid dream? And how can i get passed this fear, if there is one?

Your problem could very well come from your subconscious, but I wouldn’t be so quick to say that it’s because your mind is trying to prevent you. I must remind you that there are two competing theories about dream content. One theory applies meaning to all dream content, while another theory describes it as nothing more than brain static. Maybe you have been playing violent videogames? Maybe you associate LDs with violence. Overestimating the issue will only make it worse. The answer is probably much simpler than you think.

Anyway, to solve the problem you have a variety of tools. Autosuggestion, MILD, or good ol’-fashioned experience. Just pick one and try it out.

I don’t know why your characters would always become hostile when you’re lucid, but I don’t think it’s necessarily because your subconscious doesn’t want you to have a lucid dream. I think lots of times in dreams, things just happen randomly and don’t have a reason.
One thing I would suggest to keep lucid dreaming for longer and not have people attack you is to spin around really fast. It increases your lucidity and you will usually end up in a different place too. Hopefully you will go to a place where people aren’t trying to attack you.

What they’re actually trying to do is to wrestle with you, or at least to touch you.

They’re doing that because they crave your organic energy, which they’re normally cut off from.

They drain energy from you when they touch you, but at the same time you automatically pull an equal amount of their inorganic energy into yourself.

Why does an elephant fly? Why do they build submarines out of huge treetrunks? DCs are weird sometimes. Who knows why they do what they do? I don’t know if it’s true, but you could probably imagine that it is likely that if you respond to their aggression with aggression, you will just make it worse. Use your words! Perhaps you ought to ask THEM why they behave this way. But only bother if it happens again.

I’m wondering where you came up with that theory. Not that I’m belittling it, but I’ve never heard it before. How do you know they crave his energy and what kind it is?

Why don’t you ask the people in your dreams about that?

I seem to run into that problem, too. Sometimes in my LDs, I enjoy talking to dream characters and I try to have conversations with them. Recently, I tried talking to someone’s girlfriend and then he pulled a knife out on me, but I just tried to befriend the guy and then he settled down after that. Then we all just chatted peacefully. The best thing to do is try to befriend the aggressive dream character and it usually works.
