On workdays I have to get up early and get about 7 or 8 hours of sleep. If I wake up naturally I remember my dreams but if my alarm clock wakes me up I don’t remember any of my dreams. Does someone has any suggestions?
I’m in the same boat as you, and I would imagine that there are others as well.
I think our predicament is caused by waking up during the mid-late N-REM cycle or early-mid REM cycle. We wake up so long after our dreams that we can’t remember them at all. Just a guess, though.
Maybe once we’ve had a consistent sleep schedule going on for while our reliance on alarms will decrease.
Same here, about 80% of the time I wake up to my alarm I have little or no Dream Recall. I think this has to do with the alarm waking you up from sleep, and distracting you at a critical moment in between dreaming and waking life. Instead of gracefully slipping between, with my alarm I spend that time thinking “TURN THAT DAMN ALARM OFF”.
Change your ringtone from Call Me Maybe, it’s too catchy and it’ll drive out the dream memories.
Try waking up without an alarm clock. If you have a regular sleep schedule you wont’ need it.
