Almost There.......but yet not

Hey, I have had one LD using the FILD…it was only for a few seconds and all i saw was black but i did the nose RC and i was actually dreaming…ever since then, i havent been able to do it anymore…i also try WILD a lot…most of the time, i see HI i think, its just slowly flashing colors, normally purple, yellow, or green (dont know if that matters)…i then get some SP especially in my hands and feet but not really anywhere else…also i feel like i’m rocking on a boat in the ocean…but thats it…i never get any farther…someone please help me understand y i cant get farther or y FILD worked quickly, but shortly, once and now never again…thanks

Well done on your first one. They will get better as you eventually manage to have more of them. I’m not really sure about what FILD is, but I know a bit about WILD and HI. I personally don’t believe that the swirling colours are HI, but just ‘white noise’ from the retinas. HI, in my oppinion are less straightforward, and often have ideas attached to them, rather than being purely visual. The best way I can describe early HI is a feeling as though you have just seen something, so instead of seeing a tree, it is more like remembering you have just seen a tree. As you move closer to sleep they get more vivid and you actually start seeing things in your mind that make no sense. There are more dimensions to them as well. A particular HI might carry with it a feeling of a particular situation, but the kind of things you really wouldn’t consciously think of. I for example once got the feeling that actress Whoopie Goldberg was sitting on my bed. I often read before sleeping, and usually only put the book down when I can’t read it anymore because of hypnagogia, such as once thinking that all I need to do to finish reading the book is to shoot a laser from my eyes through to the back page, which makes absolutely no sense and was thus clearly an idea from my subconscious.
This probably all sounds silly, but the useful, thing is, once you start recognising the thoughts and images that are hypnagogic in origin, you can ‘tune in’ to them, and thus align your conscious with your subconscious, to the point that you can just walk into a vivid HI and be in a dream. This is how I have had most success with LDing.

FILD is Finger Induced Lucid Dream…u relax until u are about to fall asleep then u move ur index and middle finger slowly and slightly then do a nose RC or watever other one u can think of without waking urself up too much…if it works, u r dreaming of course…normally, u are still in bed so u dont know ur dreaming until u do a RC
