An odd experience while falling asleep...

Last night, I was falling asleep in my bed. As I felt myself start to slowly drift to sleep I remained conscious. Then my body had a slight tingling feeling, and I heard a faint buzzing sound. The tingling started to increase, and it felt as if my appendages were simply fading away into nothing until I couldn’t feel anything at all. The buzzing noise I had heard started to increase in sound. At this time I was still very conscious.

I had assumed this was Sleep Paralysis, but I’m not completely sure. Soon after I had a lucid dream, almost complete lucidity, this would probably be my 12th or 13th lucid dream I’ve had so far. As I entered what felt like a dream state, everything was pitch black, then I consciously thought where I wanted to be, and my surroundings started to fade into place.

So, to sum it up, was I feeling the onset of Sleep Paralysis? I’ve never felt anything like it before. It wasn’t scary, but it was very interesting, and different.

Welcome to the forum !
Yep it think it was sleep paralysis  What you did is called the WILD technique, congrats !

I did do some deep breathing/meditation to help be fall asleep; slowing my heart rate a bit and telling myself that I was going to be dreaming

Yeah, that’s really good.I heard meditation helps a lot your mind to be more aware.
Your body fell asleep but your mind just entered the dream still conscious and aware
