Hi, I am new to this website.
I had a frightening dream about walking around a strange house and scary angels guarding it. These angels had on a dark cape with a hood and no face, but a glowing around the face area, I also had on a dark cape with a hood mostly to hid behind and I kept my head down and hidden as much as possible and I recited the Lord’s Prayer over and over hoping they would not see me and it seemed to work, they went past me and didn’t bother me. It was night time. The house was just a large and square or rectangle and 1 story, seemed to have no windows and I don’t know about doors. made of cinder block or cement tilt-up style?
I am afraid to try lucid dreaming with this because it was so clear that I had to keep my head down to show this great respect to the angels. Or even maybee this is what death is like?
meanings of dreams are fiction area. we do not answer such questions.
Indeed, although I wouldn’t have put it so bluntly, demented.
Generally we don’t believe that dreams tell the future or have an extrasensory properties (although we still have topics regarding it), even if they sometimes seem like it. Dreams are just figments of what has happened to you in real life that day, it’s your brain organizing and cataloguing information and making connections, which in the end, results in bizarre dreams.
Note that things you may have thought about the day, may be included in your dreams as well.
So, I don’t want to go all psychoanalytical on you by trying to decipher your dreams, as it probably is more about your inner fears or daily happenings, etc, rather than a genuine precognitive dream about your imminent doom.
However, don’t take it the wrong way. You have every right to maintain your beliefs; it’s just that religion is a very touchy subject, and it could get dangerously close to a religion debate/war with this thread.
That said, you could go to your priest or whatever religious man you would go to for this kind of thing. I happen to be an atheist, so I can’t help you very much. Sorry.
They seem more like demons to me.
Interpretting dreams (if you even wish to do so, that’s just the assumption made) is a very personal process, as potential meanings all have to do with your personality and life experience, so it’s really difficult to ask someone to figure out the meaning of your dream. However, there are several good dream interpretation websites you can go to for basic guidelines, or, if you really want, you can purchase a book on the subject. Just search for key elements of the dream (in your case “angels”, “night”, “Lord’s Prayer” if you can find it, etc.)
But one dream shouldn’t change your desire to lucid dream. Just know that you’ll be in control whenever you’re lucid, only you, and you can change anything scary that may happen. Just keep optimistic and confident.
Like previous posters, I don’t believe in the precognitivity of dreams that have vague symbols telling you something. I do believe that dreams - though definitely not all dreams - can tell you something about yourself. After all, they’re a product of your own mind.
Rather than MagykKatte I would advise you not to look at different dream interpretation sites and search for the key elements of your dream. Why not? Well it’s not about what kind of associations others have with elements in your dream, but the associations you have.
An extreme example. If for instance person A associates an apple with being healthy and person b associates an apple with eating an apple with Adam and Eve and forbidden fruit, the interpretation of it would be immensely different. Obviously there are some aspects that are generally thought of similarly, but still, try to think off your own associations that already exist in your mind rather than looking up the associations other people have with symbols.
So think of yourself, what are your associations with angels? with the night? with the Lord’s prayer? List them down, both positive and negative ones, just all associations you can think of. Try to interpret these rather than the direct symbols.
Moreover, write down the feelings you got from this dream. For instance, I can imagine you were scared and hiding. Think of why you were scared. Are you scared for something in real life too? Do you feel you’re locked up in something? Do you think you need to hide for something while actually you want to be open and yourself?
I’m just shouting out some questions, of course they could be different. Just try to think of them yourself, but mostly try to think of the answers. Even if this dream wouldn’t be ‘interpreted’ at least you find out a little more about yourself and I guess that never hurts
I wouldn’t worry not to try lucid dreams though or be scared for that. All dreams are different and if you had a lucid dream in this scene you could even ask your DCs why you’re dreaming this!
Whoa that actually sounds pretty cool yet deep. You shouldn’t be afraid to try lucid dreaming although you may see disturbing things from time to time it is sooo worth the experiene. Im it gets even better whenever you get the hang of LD ing
Thank you all for your reply’s, I really didn’t think I’d get any and I just found the email today. It’s nice getting reply’s. I have thought alot about it since then and I’m only a little clearer. The Lord’s prayer has always been my rock, when I’ve been terrified of ghosts and spirits or something in the past, I would always just say that over and over and it always helped. The only thing that happened differently the day of the dream is my husband said a friend of his was stopping over to pick up a ladder and since I was feeling uneasy I went to the store and he couldn’t make that day anyway either. I agree that the angels also seemed to be demons or angels with a black hood and cape because the face area was so bright all I “saw was” the light and no face features. But do angels ever dress in disguise? Although I found it quite suspiscious that I was dressed the same with a black hood and cloak. I might try to lucid dream on this one again and see what happens because I’m not so scared now. ty ty ty for your reply’s
