Anyone used Tibetan singing bowls to induce an obe?

Hi folks,

I am thinking of buying a Tibetan singing bowl, crystal singing bowl, or tuning fork. I want to use any of the above as a way to help me induce an out of body experience. Has anyone used one of these, i am a complete beginner in this and don’t know where to start and what size of singing bowl to get. Is it the larger the bowl then the more resonating sound you get? can’t i just start off with a bowl with a 6 cm diameter and a 5 cm height, as these are far cheaper than the bigger ones. I don’t want something that will only be used for a few days and then sit on my shelf collecting dust. I really want one of these as they can vibrate the soul, or even just the body and that helps when your trying to have an OBE, they also clear the mind and stop internal dialogue, which again helps to maintain a clear mind for the OBE. But i have found some internet shops selling them and they have one bowl for each chakra but surely you don’t have to buy each bowl just becasue they have different sounds that are said to open the chakras. Does anyone know of a bowl that can make a very long vibrating sound and which can be used with a few chakras at least and will really help me induce an OBE. I know that they cannot give you an instant OBE but they can be used to help you get out of the body.

I saw a program on TV about this spa in mexico where they have this therapy that uses crystal singing bowls and you lye on this bed and they have a few crystal singing bowls that go around the bed and they play it for an hour and it has great healing benefits. They said on the docuemntary that people that come to this spa and have this treatment have reported an OBE. So the presenter tried it but didn’t report an OBE but sad it was an amazing expeirence.

Then i read up on singing bowls across the internet and they said one of the first ever reported OBE’s was by using a Tibetan singing bowl.

Also if anyone knows what are the differences between tibetan singing bowls and crystal singing bowls. Obviously the crystal ones are made in a factory and the tibetan ones are made of bronze metal which is hand hammered to shape but are there really huge sound differences between the two?

Does anybody know of any shops where i can try one in the United Kingdom or even order one online from a trustworthy shop that really describes the prodcuts how it realy is. I don’t want to pay and find how that it doesn’t hardly make a sound like it said in the description.

I hope anyone could help me in choosing the right one, i really think this could greatly help me.

Just wondering, where did you read that these bowls were traditionally used for inducing OBE’s?

I don’t know much details about this tech. The only thing I have is a CD of the best healing sounds produced by the Tibetan bowls of Rainer Tillmann and Hans de Back. I’d check if there’s a Reiki Center in your neighbourhood. They usually also do Tibetan bowl sessions, so there you might get some in depth information.

All I know is they are extremely expensive. I can’t recall exactly how much, but it was at least several hundred dollars for just one.

Then again, maybe that was just the crystal kind?

In any case, go with the try before you buy route. There are CDs you can listen to which would probably be almost as good if listened to on quality headphones.
