My days latley consist of reading books on LD, doing RC every 20 minutes and
going to school. If my mind is blank I just “imagine” in a day dream way just to get realllllly used to my imagination as a tool.
So you can see, LD is a big part of my goals at the moment. Last night I tried to WILD.
It was a tickling sensation as i felt part of my body “let go” it felt that my feet were detached from my body! So I fell out of the meditative state and tried wiggling my toes. In a flash, i gained feeling of my lower legs and it felt like I had just been woken up from a slight nap on the couch. Another cool discovery I have made is “hypomagnic hallucinations” <–(spelling?) I started to see patterns and waves of color mixing together, slowly and I kept letting it happen, it was like TV in my mind with no subject, rather it was reflective of my slow meditatve state. anyways it vanished instantly when i wiggled my toes.
Anyone expierenced with WILD? could you let me know if this right track? what are some other feelings I will expirence by WILD?
It sounds like you were making good progress! The signs that I usually get when I’m WILDing successfully is I hear a very distinctive white noise in the background, my HI starts taking more definitive shapes like boxes and polygons, and from that point its only a couple minutes until the dream forms and I can enter it. Your experience with the SP seems pretty interesting though, though it seems you weren’t fully in it as you could instantly move your extremities at will. I think you just have to wait longer to be more successful and finally get into a dream from WILD.
^^He makes a good point. You will be able to tell when your feeling true waking sleep paralysis, but it takes a very long time if your just starting out.
True waking-sleep paralysis literally freezes your muscles. You will barely be able to move your muscles, your hand? No matter how hard you try, your fingers will only move about an inch. I mean, literally, you cannot physically move them any farther than that. No matter how hard physically try.
Im also trying out WILD these days and im in a similar position. I dont have a strong SP, but i can feel my body getting numb. I have some issues with keeping my focus through the whole time and kind of slip in and out of awareness. This night i finally saw some faces and some green text, like the old pc’s dos screen!!! But that made me so excited i got out of the meditative state i was in all together. Should i just continue or should i take some measures to be more aware when getting into the meditative state? Also, if i dont get total SP, like explained in previous post, will i not be able to WILD?
@Childmind in my understanding, we shouldnt try to move at all when trying to WILD. The mind is ‘observing’ if the body is moving. If there is no movement, it will eventualy go into sleep mode;) what i do is just lay there and keep my attention on my breathing and what goes on with the HI. I havent managed to WILD yet, but it seems like im progressing. Keep up with the good work and let us know how its progressing.
Yea the first time my legs went numb I got burst of energy like “omg its working! im going numb!” This sped up my thinking and i went back to full awareness
Honestly i think i need a better bed. It is so hard to fall asleep on my back compared to my side and I only go into “meditative SP , pre-WILD” mode if im on my back. Haha yea i know what its like to notice a change in state, then that makes you so excited you wake up
Hopefully LD is coming soon for me… lastnight was first time I recalled 3 full dreams
I’m in the exact same situation as you, heh. I also get alot of white flashing dots while WILD, sometimes even total white. I also heard a voice once and thought I was moving, but it was only my imagination.
Last night I was thinking “My dream will stop if I die” inside a dream. I realized I was dreaming but I wasn’t able to do more than just move my hands a little. It also felt really unclear and noisy… I had much clearer normal dreams once. This dream wasn’t after WILD, it was some time later in the night, I guess.
